Wow! This year has passed by so quickly. I am already
gearing up for more excitement.
Thank you for your continued support of and dedication
to NCAEOP District 9. Together, we have successfully
completed another great year. By doing so, we have
added a significant “building block” to our organization.
I hope you were able to join in on the cake and ice cream
at our 40th celebration.
Congratulations to all who have completed goals of edu-
cation, advancement, leadership, and personal and profes-
sional growth. I applaud you!
As always, I am already looking forward to another year
of experiencing the accolades and achievements of
NCAEOP District 9 and am inviting you to join me!
Hope to see all of you at our next District 9 Annual Fall
Meeting to be held on October 14, 2015, at Fayetteville
Technical Community College.
I am also looking forward to seeing all of the Board mem-
bers at our next meeting and Installation on Tuesday, June
23rd , at FTCC.

District 9 held its annual district meeting on Wednesday, October 15th, 2014 at
Fayetteville Technical Community College. We were honored to have
NCAEOP Vice President, Bianca Bedford, attend and share the day with us. We
also were honored to have past State Presidents Marvin Lynne Maxwell and
Tammy Lockamy. Children from the FTCC’s Children’s Center led the pledge
of allegiance and an energetic song/dance “Popcorn”. We were enlightened
about Health and Financial Wellness in breakout sessions and Laura Hamilton
presented insightful study in teamwork workshop ‘Why Are You Looking for
The Wizard?’ for a total of 4 PSP sponsored credit hours.
Our new officers for 2015-2016 were elected during our afternoon business ses-
sion. The officers for 2015-2016 will be installed at the first Board meeting of the new AEOP year in June
2015 and are as follows: Kym Gibbs - President; Deborah Kitchens - Vice President; and Laura Jessup –
Secretary.

Our 50/50 tickets, basket tickets and special District 9 NCAEOP vendor
scholarship brought in over $1700.00 for our scholarship fund.

NCAEOP is made up of 14 districts. At least one district meeting with in-service train-ing is held each year in addition to local unit meetings. Officer positions and commit-tee work allow members to be involved in the decision - making of the association at
the local, district , and state levels.
