Cables for Buildings: Fire Resistant, the FP range

FP200 Gold is a 'standard' fire resistant cable for fire alarms and emergency lighting systems. It is the original alternative to mineral insulated cable and is a tough, durable and dressable cable that easy to install and terminate.

FP PLUS is the 'enhanced‘ fire resistant cable for fire alarm and emergency lighting circuits and also for the control of life safety and fire fighting systems. It uses Prysmian’s unique enhanced Insudite, which provides a tough, damage resistant insulation that outperforms the commonly available soft-silicone fire resistant cables.

FP600S is the ultimate fire resistant, armoured cable for power and control of emergency, life safety and fighting systems in buildings. It meets or exceeds the toughest BS fire test for cables and features on the Approved Products Register for London Underground.

Cables for Buildings: The low smoke Afumex range

Afumex 6491B ranges from 1.5 to 630 mm² with stranded circular copper conductor. Ideal for protected installations such as conduit or trunking it comes in the full range of standard colours. Afumex 6491B is the cornerstone for power and control in public buildings.

Afumex 6242B is the twin or triple flat LSOH general wiring cable with cpc. Ideal for a range of indoor building applications typically power, lighting and sub-mains distribution. Choose Afumex 6242B for public buildings in light duty environments.

Afumex BS6724 is the LSOH and flame retardant armoured cable for power distribution indoors, outdoors, buried, in air or when the highest degree of mechanical protection is needed. Ideal as a direct replacement for PVC BS5467 so simply upgrade the design to Afumex to reduce the hazard and minimise the risk.

Afumex LSX was developed specifically for the needs of modern building services. Typically for small power and lighting circuits and especially for shallow voids in thin walls and partitions. It has and aluminium sheath making it robust but lightweight and the ideal choice to replace bulky indoor armoured cables. Afumex LSX needs only nylon glands to retain earth continuity, it’s saves time and money too.
