About the service
1. Brief description of the service covered by this assessment.
This service ensures that all providers deliver the highest quality education and best outcomes for our children and families. This supports both
children who are receiving funded early education as well as those who are funded by their own families.
The Early Years’ Service works with its early year’s Private, Voluntary and Independent (PVI) group providers including early year’s education
delivered in schools and home-based childminders providing 2, 3 and 4 year old funded children. Together these form the Local Authority’s
‘Directory of Provider and it is this Directory that Enfield’s ‘Informed Families’, shares with the public regarding funded and non-funded early
education and childcare.
The core purpose of Enfield’s 5 Children’s Centre Hubs is to improve outcomes for young children and their families, with a particular focus on the
most disadvantaged, so children are equipped for life and ready for school, no matter what their background or family circumstances.
2. Please list the main partners, council departments, organisations and service user or target groups for this service.
Our main partners are
120 PVI providers
300+ home based childminders.
5 hub Children Centres which are delivered by 4 schools
Together offer services to more than 20,000 children aged 0-4 years olds living in Enfield,
3. If the service is provided by another organisation or agency please give their names and how you ensure they comply with the Council’s Equal Opportunities and Valuing Diversity policy
All PVI provider have to sign a contract with the L/A as part of their funding agreement. This ensures that they comply with the Council’s Equality and Opportunities and Valuing Diversity policy
