Test Mode If an LAL9-D-Ex sludge level sensor is connected, TestMode appears when the first SMS message is sent to the warning device. In test mode, the sludge level sensor responds immediately when an alarm status is active. Test mode remains active for about 10 minutes, after which the warning device switches back to normal mode automatically. Test mode can be activated for checking purposes, for example, by sending the SMS command SET TEST ON. Send the SMS command SET TEST OFF to deactivate test mode. Always check to ensure that the sensor specifi cations in the received status message correspond with the actual confi guration.

Confi guration and Operating Instructions

Programming the SIM Card• Switch off the supply voltage before inserting or removing the SIM card.

• The warning device will not function and cannot be tested without a SIM card.

• When using your own cellular phone to confi gure the SIM card on the warning device, remember to store the information on the SIM card and not on the memory of the cellular phone.

• If you do not wish to confi gure the SIM card using a cellular phone, you have the option of using a USB SIM card reader for a PC.

• Always use uppercase letters, e. g., PERSON.

• Enter the corresponding country code in front of all telephone numbers (+44 for United Kingdom, +49 for Germany, etc.). Do not enter a space, 0 or 00 in front of the country code.

• Do not include any spaces or special characters in telephone numbers.

• Enter (a minimum of) PERSON1 with corresponding telephone number in the telephone book on the warning device SIM card orPERSON1 and PERSON2 orPERSON1, PERSON2 and PERSON3

Never program PERSON2 without any details.

Changing the Battery for LAL-A8-GSM-Ex (Battery Version)• Press the State/Send button for approx. 3 seconds after removing the old but

before inserting the new battery.

Test Mode• If an LAL9-D-Ex sludge level sensor is connected, TestMode appears when the

fi rst SMS message is sent to the warning device. In test mode, the sludge level sensor responds immediately when an alarm status is active.

• Test mode remains active for about 10 minutes, after which the warning device switches back to normal mode automatically. Test mode can be activated for checking purposes, for example, by sending the SMS command SET TEST ON. Send the SMS command SET TEST OFF to deactivate test mode.
