10:00 ­ 11:30 am Anxiety & Gifted Kids 117 Presenter(s): Marissa Blattner, Sandra Champion Gifted learners often feel things more deeply & intensely, which often results in

increased anxiety. In this session, participants will look at the biology behind anxiety and walk away with some ideas for helping students work through some of those triggers.

10:00 ­ 11:30 am Differentiation: Simplified, Realistic, and Effective 118 Presenter(s): Dr. Bertie Kingore This practical session demonstrates a realistic approach to differentiation that

promotes students' achievement with less intensive time and labor for teachers. Educators increase expertise in differentiation strategies as they learn to prioritize a sequence for implementing differentiation. Simple­to­use strategies, activities, and materials are modeled that challenge students, increase active participation, document state learning standards, and transfer to multiple content areas.

you lots of free ideas to notebook in your Language Arts classroom. Every now and then we'll sprinkle in some pixie dust to make things extra special. So what is notebooking? Here’s our definition: to notebook: (verb) to put written ideas, drawn or printed images, and other relevant things into a notebook as a record of learning; often used to share student ideas, thoughts, reflections, understandings, and goals. From set up to practical use, we will help you build notebooks with flair and with purposeful intent. We took all your awesome advice from last summer and have REVVED up our presentation so that when you leave, you are ready to begin the art of notebooking in your Language Arts classrooms. (working memory, planning, organization, prioritizing and attention) and how deficits in these processes may impact learning. These executive skills are the cognitive skills that allow for self­regulation and self­direction of our day­to­day and long term functioning for academic learning and also social/behavioral abilities. middle school and high school students will be issued in Fall 2016. Topics will include an overview of the Chrome­based operating system, basic Chromebook tasks and keyboard shortcuts, as well as how to access Google Drive, Microsoft Office applications, Moodle, and school email. Educators will leave this session with a general understanding of how students will use Chromebooks, both in their classroom and at home. This session is designed for middle school and high school educators. Participants do not need any Chromebook experience, and Chromebooks will be available during the session for participants to gain hands­on practice.

to support stakeholders, monitor behavior, and build positive incentives. Using Google forms and Google sheets with Add­ons users are able to send immediate fact based emails to notify parents of a concern. This information is automatically collected. Administrators can sort and identify areas of need to enlist students for RTI, as well as give incentives for continued positive behavior.
