Another turning point was when I watched a program on TV I believe presented by Johnny Clegg about the sinking of the Mendi*. I became very emotional about this event. For me the Rural African People are Gods chosen race if God would choose. For meaningful understanding one has to go back in time before Europeans arrived with their despotic White God who relegates Black skinned people and all women to be 2nd class, only good as slaves and servants. It is a true testament to African Sainthood that even after centuries of systematic oppressive brutality and discrimination, one finds African people largely retaining their humour and good nature. What this really boils down to is how much we invest in ourselves and what view we hold of ourselves. Knowing that we are perfect in the eye's of God.
