WHAT IS THIS POEM ABOUT??

• this poem explain the cruel reality of an island man living in the city.

• he used to stand out in his home land but now he is just a blurred face in a crowded place.

• the tone of this poem is longing and anguish.

• This poem has a poetic device called enjambment this means a line runs into another." morning

it also has an onomatopoeia“ muffling muffling” this means when a word

sounds like the sounds. in this format it is a sound that makes him slowly remember his lush past

• Imagery: “Sun surfacing defiantly from the east of his small emerald island he always comes back.” This is when a poem or story lets you have freedom to imagine the picture. In this format it is saying that the “emerald island” is a confined , comfortably place.
