  • KNOW YOUR RIGHTS•You have the right/choice to make a report to

    university police or campus security, local law enforcement, and/or state police;

    •You have the right to report the incident to your institution, to be protected by the institution from

    retaliation for reporting an incident; and•You have the right to receive assistance and resources

    from your institution

    Statewide definition of a�rmative consent, defining consent as a knowing, voluntary, and mutual decision among all participants to engage in sexual activity;

    Statewide amnesty policy encouraging students to report incidents of sexual assault or other sexual violence by granting immunity for certain campus policy violations, such as drug and alcohol use;

    Students' Bill of Rights, which campuses will be required to distribute to all students, informing sexual violence victims of their legal rights and available resources;

    Comprehensive training requirement for administrators, sta�, and students, including at new student orientations;

    Requirement for campuses to annually submit incidents of reported sexual violence to the State Education Department to be made publicly available on their website;

    New sexual assault victims unit within the State Police, specializing in response to sexual assaults and related crimes and training local law enforcement; and

    Requirement for first responders to notify survivors of their right to contact outside law enforcement.

    The new law combats sexual assault on college campuses by creating:
