EducationalObjectives

This conference is designed for neurologists, neurosurgeons and other physiciansand health care providers interested in seizure and epilepsy, including diagnosis andtherapy.

The purpose of this conference is to provide up-to-date information on seizures andepilepsy and to provide a forum for the discussion of diagnosis and treatment of thesedisorders.

Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to link the educational objectives to Core Competencies (Medical Knowledge and Patient Care) and be able to:• Describe how to treat status epilepticus• Recognize the impact sleep disorders have on epilepsy• Review issues related to pediatric epilepsy and surgery• Examine the relationship between neuroendocrine systems and epilepsy• Discuss the newer AEDs and their use in pediatrics and in pregnancy• Evaluate various viewpoints regarding ethical/legal dilemmas faced in

clinical practice

EducationalObjectives

This conference is designed for neurologists, neurosurgeons and other physiciansand health care providers interested in seizure and epilepsy, including diagnosis andtherapy.

The purpose of this conference is to provide up-to-date information on seizures andepilepsy and to provide a forum for the discussion of diagnosis and treatment of thesedisorders.

Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to link the educational objectives to Core Competencies (Medical Knowledge and Patient Care) and be able to:• Describe how to treat status epilepticus• Recognize the impact sleep disorders have on epilepsy• Review issues related to pediatric epilepsy and surgery• Examine the relationship between neuroendocrine systems and epilepsy• Discuss the newer AEDs and their use in pediatrics and in pregnancy• Evaluate various viewpoints regarding ethical/legal dilemmas faced in

clinical practice
