The National Federation of UNESCO Clubs conducted trainings and master classes for girls on handicrafts, national embroidery and painting of ancient patterns, where they study and receive basic knowledge of international mechanisms for the implementation of the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. In particular, artisans gained knowledge as they gained practical experience in filling out application forms for submission of ICH elements to the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding and the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The participants also got acquainted with the programs, projects and activities for the safeguarding of the intangible cultural heritage and received information on the forms and conditions for the provision of international assistance. Since the ratification of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (August 17, 2010), Tajikistan has paid special attention to the preservation of the intangible cultural heritage at the national level. So, in 2012, a program for the preservation of the intangible cultural heritage until 2015 was developed and approved.
