  • The ALT series of Loop Test Translators are designed to replace thesatellite link for test and alignment of earth station systems operating inS, C, X, Ku or DBS frequency bands. Incorporating fundamentalfrequency phase locked oscillators and double balanced mixers, thetranslators block convert frequencies from uplink to either downlink orL-band for instantaneous monitoring of frequency, power levels andmodulation. The input path contains a front panel controlledcontinuously variable attenuator for reducing input power levels. Eachunit also provides a reference frequency output and LO lock alarm.

  • The ALS series of Satellite Communication Line Amplifiers are designedto compensate for losses in microwave and RF signal paths, eitherbetween system components and across site or as a driver for highpower transmission amplifiers. The amplifiers operate in specific C, X,Ku, DBS and Ka uplink or downlink frequencies and some multi-bandmodels provide the versatility of covering both up and down linkfrequencies. Alternatively, some models cover more than one linkfrequency regime.

    A range of options is available, some of which will affect thespecifications given in the table. Please contact the factory for fulldetails regarding any particular design.

  • The ANG series of general purpose noise generators provide up to 1watt of white Gaussian noise output in several models over the 10Hzto 18GHz frequency range, with custom options to 40GHz and aredesigned to be used either as laboratory instruments or as built-insystems test facilities.The noise, which is diode generated, is amplified and the level can bevaried in 1dB steps from 0 to 10dB or optionally in 0.1dB steps from 0to 111dB. Further standard options are available in addition to the ability to provide custom solutions for particular applications.

    The APL - 02 series of fundamental frequency phase locked oscillatorsutilise coaxial resonators (CRO) to 3GHz and dielectric resonators(DRO) to 14 GHz in a phase locked loop with an internal crystalreference. Circuit design uses SMT devices including Si bipolar activedevices up to 3 GHz and GaAs FET active devices above 3 GHz. Theoutput contains a buffer amplifier for improved ruggedness, higheroutput power and a wider range of load VSWR. The PLOs also have areference monitor output. DRO types have an external tuning screw forfactory set up only.

  • The ANS2 series of programmable, synthesised RF signal sources featureboth frequency and level control and, with a standard office PC, provide aturn-key solution to the provision of variable frequency sources for bothsystems and test equipment applications.Directly connecting to the PC parallel port, each unit can be set tofrequencies within a typical 1.5:1 range and at levels up to +10dBm via aneasy to use control panel software and the non-volatile memory enablesthe selected settings to be retained in the stand alone unit.Each unit contains a +/-1ppm stability reference TCXO but can also beused with an external reference. The sources are supplied complete withan 18V d.c. wall mount power supply, operating software and specialinterface cable.
