PRAYER OPPORTUNITIES WE CARE When needs arise in the Greenville Free Methodist Church

family, please call the office at 664-2584. On evenings and weekends, please feel free to call a member of the staff or your visitation minister.

During the month of November, the Bond County Prayer Initiative meets Thursdays at 8:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 218 E. South St.

Individual Needs: Mary Ashley Barber; Bob Horsfall;Carolyn Horton; Christie Kessinger; LeRoy Schantz; Connie Smith; Hilda Kemp; David and Linda Crandall; Naomi Vought; Cal Burge

FMY Prayer Partners Needed: Every year we try to team up FMYers with an adult prayer partner from our church. There is no obligation beyond regular prayer for your partner. This year we have 108 FMYers already on our list with more being added fairly regularly --- that means we need lots of prayer. Many of you are already prayer partners (if you were a part-ner last year, we are counting on you to continue with your assigned FMYer unless you let Pastor Greg know otherwise). If you would like to join this ministry of prayer there are four ways to respond:1. Sign-up in an adult class2. Sign-up at one of the welcome centers3. Put “FMY Prayer Partner” on the EVENT line of the communication card4. Contact Pastor Greg or Lolly Shaw @ 664-2584 or send an e-mail

HARVEST KIDS PARENTS/LIBRARY USERS: We have some exciting news for students in the Bond County Unit 2 schools concerning our library and A/R points. The new system the school is using for A/R tests now has a much wider book bank selection and many of the books in our children’s library are eligible to be used for A/R! These books have been marked with reading level and point values on the inside and with an “A/R” sticker on the outside. Come check them out!

A LOST & FOUND table is set up across from the Lounge through Sunday, November 11. Please check there for missing jackets, dishes, Bibles, etc. Jewelry and keys are at the church office. You may call during the week to inquire about these. Items remaining after November 11 will be donated to the Thrift Store.

It is for freedom that Christ

has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened

again by a yoke of slavery.~ Galatians 5:1

Election Intercession: Pray that we as a church will “stand firm” in the freedom we have gained through Jesus. Pray that this freedom will be reflected in our prayers, voting and lives. Pray also that we will not let any yoke of slavery bind us in our minds, hearts or actions and that we as a church and a nation will be dedicated to setting people free in all areas of their lives.

UPCOMING EVENTSNOVEMBER 4, 2012

TODAY'S Communion Offering is the Benevolence Fund. Due to increased need in our community, our benevolence funds have been depleted and so we have not been able to offer assistance for a few weeks. If you are able to give above and beyond your regular tithe, there are many in our community who could benefit from your generosity. We do not, however, want contributions to this fund to create other hardships. Mark “Jericho Fund” on your check memo line or offering envelope as you give.

November is National Adoption Month. In conjunction with this, TODAY and Sunday, November 11, Jeff and Michelle Sussenbach will share their testimony about their journey through foster care and adoption, in the Adult Sunday School Class that meets in the FMY Room at 9:00 a.m.

The Krober Family invites you to stop by the Lounge between services TODAY to wish Anita Krober a "Happy Birthday." Anita will turn 95 on Wednesday. If you wish to send her a card, please address Anita Krober, Fair Oaks Nursing Home, Greenville, IL, 62246.

FMY Sponsored Wednesday Night Meal is Wednesday, November 7, 5:00 p.m. The menu this month is Taco and Chicken Noodle soups, salad, french bread, and dessert. Vegetarian option will be white chili. Please call the church office by Monday noon to request this option. Suggested donations of $4 per person ($15 for family of 4 or more) are appreciated and proceeds go to FMY/Senior Teens.

Mother/Daughter Slumber Party: We invite Moms and Daughters (if you don’t have one around, borrow one) of ALL AGES to our Good Ol’ Fashioned Slumber Party! Friday, November 9, 6:00 p.m. – Saturday, November 10, 9:00 a.m., at the home of Lloyd and Debbie Lewis, 1015 E. Oak St. Cost is $20/pair, $5 for each additional daughter. Sign up by Monday, November 5, at the Welcome Centers, the Children’s Check-In Counters, or online at [email protected]. Pizza and salad will be provided for dinner. A breakfast of donuts, cereal, milk, juice and coffee will be served.
