Once you have created an account, you will have access to thousands of online resources including documents, presentations, videos, quizzes and more. In many modules, you can submit your assignments online and have access to online feedback.

Tutors can send important news and information relating directly to particular modules you are studying straight to your preferred email address. With many opportunities for online interactions with both your tutors and fellow students through discussion forums, Moodle is there to help you with your studies at anytime and wherever you are.

YourMoodlePassword

When you register for Moodle you will be asked to create a username and password. Please note that this is separate to your IT Services issued username and password for the network etc. However, your Moodle password can be changed by contacting the IT Services Helpdesk.

Any further problems with Moodle should be reported to Marcus Sugden [email protected].

Your Files

SavingFilesonTheNetwork

You have been allocated space on the network to save your files to. Initially this is limited to 500mb but can be extended if you enquire at the IT Services Helpdesk.

Any files you save in this area are accessible on any computer in the campus. All files are also backed up by IT Services so it is a safer way of keeping files than on other media such as USB sicks or external hard disks. Old versions of your files may also be available if for any reason you want to revert back to an old version of a document.

From any IT suite computer:

Save your files in the My Documents folder

You can also access your files remotely from any Internet connected computer. Please see the UsingYourOwnComputer section in this guide.

HowshouldIsavemyfileswhenIworkathome?

To ensure that your work is compatible with the computer systems with Leeds Trinity you should ensure that you save your files in the Microsoft Word 1997-2003 (.doc) format. If this is unavailable you should save your work as ‘rich text format (.rtf)’. This is a universal format that can be opened on all word processing programs. If you have any problems with opening your work, please visit the Helpdesk.

From the SaveAsdialogue box:

Select MicrosoftWord1997-2003(.doc) if available from the Save as type drop down box

Select RichTextFormat (.rtf)if available from the Save as type drop down box
