Tech Mahindra CEO Sanjay Kalra has resigned from the firm after spending around six years in its management.

Vineet Nayyar, who is the vice-chairman, will take over the operational responsibilities of CEO.

Both were brought in from HCL before Tech Mahindra’s IPO in August 2006

India rejected the plan by UK-based mining group Vedanta Resources to mine bauxite in Orissa.

"There have been serious violations of environment protection acts," Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh said.

The blow came as Vedanta seeks to buy a majority stake in Cairn India from its UK-based parent Cairn Energy.

Under the agreement , IBM will integrate all of HMEL’s operations ranging from manufacturing to marketing and distribution.

Refinery would be able to process about 1,80,000 barrels of crude oil per day.
