Evaluation Activity 3 Part 1For the first part of this activity, I created two wordle collages which contained the feedback we received from my treatment and animatic. The first tagul I created was from the treatment feedback I received from my teacher.

The second tagul I created was from the animatic feedback I received from my teacher.

These words in particular I received from my audience feedback for my animatic, and my treatment, and I chose them because they have the strongest meaning to me. I came to the conclusion that I gained a 60% negative feedback and a 40% positive feedback, which gave me a lot to work on. The feedback that I received from my treatment allowed me to understand that I really had no clear concept of the shape or the form of my music video, only a vague idea. By working upon this feedback, I was able to create a music video that the audience could understand and enjoy, further creating a much more effective product which suited its purpose. Within this treatment, I referred to the fact that I would be using an upbeat version of the song Heavy Stone. From my audience feedback, I was able to evaluate that, with my ideas, this would be very difficult. This further led me to choose the piano version of the song. This change then progressed further, allowing me to adapt my animatic to fit with the flow and the genre of the song, further leading me to hand draw each one of these shots, further ending up editing each shot together. Labelling the shots with timings and transitions gave the audience a much better understanding of what was happening and what the overall performance and narrative aspects were.Treatment feedback

The feedback for my rough cut was how I wanted the audience to react. The majority of the audience really enjoyed the rough cut, although they thought that a narrative was needed. Each member of the audience came up with some ideas for improvements, which I took on board and worked on. I knew that the video was not what I wanted the final out come to be, so I listened to the audience to hopefully create something which they would enjoy. Certain parts needed to be improved upon, and this happened in my final piece. By getting this feedback, I was able to spot faults within my own video, as well as spot the areas that needed improving on. I did not have a narrative in my video by this point, so by gaining feedback from my peers, I was able to shape a narrative around what the audience wanted, further making the video much more appealing.

Below shows two spider diagrams created on Bubbl.Us. The first one shows some positive comments which were made about my rough cut, and the second one shows improvement which needed to be made.

Implementing these changes: I decided to create an interesting narrative as suggested, I decided not to use the star in this part of the filming. By doing this, I was able to create a much more general idea of love and heart-break, to make the audience feel more emotionally connected to the video

I also decided to cut in different shots during performance. By doing this, I was able to make the music video much more appealing, as the repetitive nature was removed, and so there was less movement of the camera

Black and white as my teacher suggested, I put a black and white filter on the video. This both gave it a more professional look, as well as sticking to the conventions of an indie-folk genre and also allowing the emotions of the song to flow better
