Class and Teacher Feedback• When we presented our Music Video idea much earlier on (when we presented our treatment video) everyone liked the

initial idea. We had chosen a song that no one had heard of, however this was positive because on YouTube there was no official music video for the song, therefore people would have no expectations of what should be included. Once we announced the genre, the class generally agreed that our video idea of a party would suit the genre.

• Due to us filming at night at a pool party some criticism we received was the lighting will be too dark, or too hard to manage. However this was not a problem as we used spot lights to help light up areas, and if that didn’t work Sony Vegas enabled us to edit the lighting filter after we had done the filming.

Video Feedback • In a earlier post I showed a video audience research we gathered from asking a couple of

people • Music video we asked

– General feedback– Favourite shot– Do you think there are any improvements we could do?For the Digipack and magazine advert we asked– General feedback– What's your thoughts do you like it?– Videoing an audience I think is better as not only do they say there feelings but body language also helps suggest

something so if I do audience research in the future from a analysing point of view I would video someone. One key point which was highlighted was the lack of visuals links between the music video and the didgipack. We asked our class 2 questions; Do you think the Digipack has links to the music video, and the second question, Is there enough visual links between the magazine advert and Digipack. From the feedback, on the first question there isnt much bewteen the two 5 v 7, pehaps there is no point trying to create a link?!?

Treatment Video• Our treatment video was presented to our class

at the very start of the process, we used images and bullet points to explain to the class our target audience, mise en scene and genre, they seemed to get the gist of it.

• The concept itself of having it at a pool party enabled our target audience relate to the scenario and also picture themselves being involved creating a sense of gratification and jealousy.

• An earlier survey which was aimed at our target audience showed that the genre we chose house/electro was popular among our audience.

• The Treatment video was a good early indication if our target audience was excepting of our concept due to it having a lot of unconventional parallels.

Survey Monkey• The first Survey I created

I linked with my facebook specifically saying only people of the age 15-25 can answer as they were our target audience. This survey gave us enough information as well as the questions in our treatment video. However this could not be 100% accurate because it was down to honesty asking all my facebook friends between 15-25 answer, someone above that age may have filled in the survey.

• The survery on the right was crated by another group member in my group. This was another survey that we conducted just to reiterate our findings and make sure they are 100% accurate. We found generally that all the questions asked to the target audience, were easily applicable to our concept.

Magazine Advert

The pictures illustrate the start to finish of how we ended up with our final product. After a lot of re drafts and feedback the final image is our final Magazine Advert which we created on Photoshop. The main criticism in picture 4 was it was too simple and not much was going. Therefore we used up the free space and made the formatting and alignment more regimental. Audience research was essential in order for us to improve our final product we approached our class mates multiple times, interviews and also our teacher.

Digi Pack The first draft was positive in terms of audience feedback. The audience liked the warm welcoming colour and the thumb print characters which illustrates a sense of originality and question the conventions of a Digi pack. The ambience it created they liked how it was all handmade much like our music video. Paradoxically there were a few issues that we addressed, to help develop our digi pack. Firstly we didn’t include enough information in terms of who created the album, the record company and studio and the performers. The first draft didn’t have enough text on the inside front cover which we soon changed as evident in the picture on the right. We also hadn't included who it was licensed and published with and had no further information if the buyer wants to explore further into the artist and album. One big issue was at first was we blended the barcode into the yellow black ground using a dissolve tool, now we have the traditional white background which makes it look more authentic and professional.

Music Video• The first audience feedback

we received was generally mixed emotions. The audience like the whole concept and how it has devleoped sucessfully, however some shots were not executed at there potential, for example we had a huge darkness problem, some shots were far too dark. Some shots were too wobbly and made it look very amateur, so for the greater good, we decided to replace them with other shots having another shooting day to get more footage.

• Shot 1 demonstrates the normal footage without a lighting effect, shot 2 shows the same shot with a brighter effect so you can see more clearly. Obviously we sacrifice image quality and it becomes more grainy but at least its not too dark. This was the biggest criticism in our audience research which we have now fixed.

Music Video

• Another issue which came up several times was in the dancing scene we had a random guy standing in the background who appears to be rolling a cigarette.

Due to the filming being an actual party and people were told to do anything just be themselves it is common to see random people standing in shots but when editing we wanted to minimise this so that it doesn’t look shabby or amateur.
