Now that it is cold and flu season, please do what you can

to prevent the spread of illness such as: get a flu shot,

practice proper handwashing, and/or sneeze into your

elbow. If you are sick, you might consider: wearing a face

Make plans to join us next Sunday, November 24

after the 5:00 pm Mass in the St. Henry dining room. All

are invited: singles, couples and families! We will share a

Harvest Ball totals are in...we were able to raise $64,048.50

($52,241 after expenses) in 2019! This will allow us to finish the

playground and purchase everything on the "playground wish

list" for the kids! Thank you to everyone who volunteered on the

made a donation. We achieved a record breaking year!

    UN EVENTO DEL ADVIENTO

Mire al primer página del boletín por

    más informació de este evento

parroquial el próximo domingo, 24 de

    noviembre

    MIL DISCULPAS

noviembre de 8:00-11:00 am (107 W. State St).

    OUR STEWARDSHIP

Today’s readings paint a somewhat frightening

picture of the end of time. But the Gospel ends with

the assurance to faithful stewards that those who

    persevere will be saved.

    NEEDED

THE END IS NEAR… ARE YOU READY?

Perseverance and persecution: these probably are not two of our

favorite words, and yet they are so much a part of today’s gospel

message for us. To persevere means that no doubt there are

obstacles that need to be overcome and it’s not going to be

easy. And no normal person would seek to be persecuted! Yet

in today’s gospel we hear Jesus telling his followers that “they

will seize and persecute you and hand you over to the

synagogues and to prisons” but “by your perseverance we will

    secure your lives”.

Luke actually presents persecution as an opportunity for the

followers of Jesus for “It will lead to your giving testimony”. It’s

all in the response. Isn’t that so true with most things in our

lives? If we live according to the Christian values that our

parents and godparents committed us to in baptism, then our

whole being is a witness to Jesus Christ and everything we do

    becomes testimony.

But it is by no means easy. If you’re old enough to be reading

this, you have had many life experiences that support this! We

are not alone, Christ has gone before us as well as millions of

believers, each bearing witness to the life of faith we now live.

And of course, we are community, helping each other along the

    way!

No

estamos solos.
