A huge thank you to our community for your support of local businesses and nonprofits this past year. We at the Evergreen Chamber are blessed to have been a part of a community that has grown economically and has so many residents that have celebrated success throughout 2019. We thank our merchants, restaurants and services for their business, we thank our locals for their support of all three.

Have you read the article on PAGE 20 of this month’s Colorado Serenity Magazine? The Evergreen Chamber is honored to end this wonderful year with the largest family friendly, alcohol free celebration in the mountain area, Skate the Lake New Year’s Eve Festival on December 31st from 6-10pm.

If there is no skating on Evergreen Lake, does New Year’s Eve still Happen? YES!!! We will close the section of Highway 74 facing the lake, have a GIANT Street Festival with games, food, music and of course fireworks shooting off over the lake at 8pm. Free 2020 glasses for all attendees! Tickets on sale on our website now.

We again thrilled to be able to donate a portion of the net proceeds from the Skate the Lake Festival back to five different nonprofits: Alpine Rescue, Bootstraps College Scholarships, DriveSmart, EAPL and the EChO Foodbank. For the community by the community led by the Evergreen Chamber. As the saying goes it is better to give than receive and we could not have asked for a better holiday gift to give our local community. Join us.

Thursday, December 12th was the Evergreen Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Business Awards and Holiday Gala event held at The Wild Game. A big part of the evening was to find out who won the Business of the Year honors. Many local businesses were nominated and the choice was tough. The selection process included online nominations, online voting, interviews and thoughtful answers submitted to our weighted deliberation process. There were 26 total businesses nominated-some for multiple honors.

Q: What service(s) or product(s) do you offer/manufacture? IT Consulting and Managing. John Baldwin has had multiple senior positions in some of the biggest, most high profile companies in the world doing exactly this type of work. There’s not much we haven’t done as a company.

Q: Do you have employees? How many? We have 5 employees.

Q: How do you measure success and over what time frame? We love meeting people who are just at their wits end with their IT. We understand we’re tarred with the same brush as other IT resources and we have to earn their trust. This always happens, a good benchmark is usually around the 3 month mark. There’s a palpable difference in the way our customers behave around us and it’s a sign that they understand they can rely on us, and that they’ve finally found an IT resource they can turn to that can get it done.

Q: Who are the clients/what are the projects that you most enjoy working on? It’s usually ‘We have all kinds of problems and nobody seems able to fix them’. The cause is pretty much always a poorly set up network. So first step is to audit the network, identify where the configuration issues are, and set them straight. We’ve lost track of the number of times we’ve been told ‘The last IT guy was never able to fix that’. We love that.

Q: Why do your customers select you over your competitors? We understand the technology inside out.

Q: Who is your ideal customer? A company that is sick of having to deal with IT issues, knows that their IT should work and hasn’t been able to find an IT resource that can get it done. This seems to be most of them!

Wreaths Across America: Remembering the Fallen
