Sustainable Engineering Projects…Clean water, power, sanitation, education, roads and bridges are sustainable engineering projects that improve the quality of life in the communities we serve for generations to come. Thousands of volunteers in more than 300 chapters contribute their time and skills to these efforts, including university chapters on more than 180 campuses in the United States.

Proactively Meet Basic Human Needs Globally…EWB-USA projects depend in a large part upon the generosity of corporate partners – both financially and in-kind. When your company supports EWB-USA, you’re pro-actively helping to meet basic human needs throughout the world by providing resources and volunteers needed to complete these projects.

Workforce Development…Your employees benefit, too. Valuable employees – both young and experienced workers – expect to expand their skill sets and experience new challenges. When you partner with EWB-USA, your employees participate in engineering projects that broaden their horizons and provide a deep sense of purpose.

Accountability… All chapters work under the EWB-USA’s nonprofit 501(c)(3) designation and are responsible to the national organization for project design and operating direction. EWB-USA provides oversight to ensure that projects meet industry standards and assure the safety of our members and the community.

Corporate Social Responsibility…Partnering with EWB-USA can enhance reputation and brand image generating good feelings toward your company’s products or services, compelling customers and media to talk about your organization and its positive global impact.

“You don’t start with technology. You start by finding out what people need and then you see if technology can meet those needs in a better way. That’s why I’m so impressed with the way you go about your work.” Bill Gates, Sr., Keynote Speaker

at the EWB-USA 2008 International

Conference

The EWB-USA Project Grant Program gives a corporation the option to actively invest in EWB-USA chapter projects through our biannual grant cycle.

This program presents the unique opportunity to provide direct EWB-USA

project support in communities around the world, while simultaneously

connecting a corporation to the pulse of EWB-USA in an engaging grant

process comprised of review, relationship building and reporting.

The EWB-USA Project Grant Program is an alternative to the

Corporate Partner Program and does not receive EWB-USA

“I feel comfortable moving at a fast pace, being part of a team and managing five things at once,” says Julie Gagen, CDM environmental engineer, co-president of EWB-USA’s northeast region with 72 chapters, and the EWB-USA Massachusetts state representative. “You’re forced to understand what a group is capable of and how people can be effective.”

To join EWB-USA Project Grant Program, companies commit to an 85/15 funding split. All corporations participating in the EWB-USA Project Grant Program will be recognized in the EWB-USA Annual Report.

In this arrangement 85 percent will be used to provide funds for EWB-USA Chapters through a granting process managed by EWB-USA. A minimum of $5,000 must be made available per grant.

For corporations donating $10,000 or above, the corporation is invited to actively participate in the EWB-USA chapter grant award cycles. This includes reviewing grant application material and selecting company named grant recipients. Corporations can determine their level of involvement throughout this process.

The remaining 15 percent of the committed funds will be used by EWB-USA for:

Project management and technical support:

• Project quality control and safety to ensure technical viability and environmental, economic and cultural sustainability.

• Educational training for students and professional members through regional workshops, teleconferences, webinars, eNews and EWB-USA’s Annual International Conference.

• Errors and Omissions Insurance for all projects and ensures that project teams have travel medical insurance including emergency evacuation coverage.
