As the saying goes: ‘You are nevertoo old to become younger.’Ponder for a moment on this goodnews.

This is the message of thewellness company DNA-Shift. Itsfounder, a conventional medicaldoctor, has found this to bepossible by recently completing a60-mile cycle tour. This issomething he used to do 30 yearsago, before marriage, children anddemanding work schedules tookup his time. During those busy

years, such a distance on a bicycle was unthinkable. When his beloved wife passed away due to ovarian cancer atthe age of 55 years, he realized that the same genes run in his children. That is where the journey started as to whatcould be done to prevent negative gene expression in his children.

As another saying goes: ‘Our genes load our guns, but our environment pulls the trigger.’

We do not have to sit and wait for the same bad things to happen to us as those that have happened to our parentsand grandparents. Even if adult-onset Type 2 diabetes, hardening of arteries that leads to strokes and myocardialinfarction, Alzheimer’s, certain cancers and many other degenerative diseases run in the family, we can control ourenvironmental factors and prevent the ‘trigger’ from being pulled.

It has been said: ‘Strive to live to be a hundred while still feeling like fifty.’ This is where ‘anti-aging’ comes in.

We do not want to age or ‘rust’ or ‘oxidize’ quicker than is necessary. Investing in our health during our youth maypay well in our later years. It is postulated in the subject of ‘epigenetics’ that we may even pass on better genes toour offspring by living more healthily. There are many options which enable us to ‘healthify’ our lifestyles. Some ofthese include exercising, sleep, stress management, healthy eating habits and supplementation. Take your gutbacteria as an example. Are you aware that there are about 300-500 different species of gut bacteria in ourintestines? The total number of bacteria in our guts outnumbers cells in our bodies by approximately ten times. These good bacteria are constantly put under pressure by a number of factors, such as chlorinated water, processed foods and preservatives, pesticides on our fruits and vegetables, stressful lives and antibiotics. This canlead to disastrous effects because these ‘good bacteria’ in the gut influence our immune system, our gut and brainhealth, but if overpopulated can even cause inflammation.

The upside is that with this knowledge and regular supplementation we can avoid the negative factors that suppressour good bacteria. This includes naturally made probiotics that can be found in kefir as well as quality probioticsupplements. Probiotics are a recommended addition to your anti-aging routine, and should be taken along withother daily supplements such as vitamins, Omega-3 Fish Oil and/or Krill Oil.

To suit each individual’s appetite for their own anti-aging program, DNA-Shift is introducing various anti-agingsupplements on the market. The company’s name DNA-Shift, suggests ‘shifting’ our DNA to where it was intendedto be. DNA-Shift’s range includes a Probiotic 50 billion CFU supplement, with 11 strains of good gut bacteria and aprebiotic to feed the probiotic ‘good’ bacteria as they pass through the digestive system. In a probiotic supplement,a broad spectrum of different probiotic bacterial strains and a high CFU (Colony forming unit) count is preciselywhat you should look for. Apart from gut health, probiotics are known for additional brain health benefits. Specificstrains in the Probiotic 50 formula have been proven by clinical studies to support mental health. This can be ofexceptional interest for those dealing with conditions such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, Alzheimer’s and brainfog. Further benefits of these strains relate to intestinal health, conditions such as ‘Leaky Gut Syndrome’, IBS,indigestion, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, flatulence, antibiotic-induced diarrhea and irregularity. Probioticstrains support one’s immune system, and may reduce allergies and improve dermatitis, psoriasis, andinflammation. Other benefits of the supplement include healthy metabolic syndrome, reduced central obesity, reduced diabetes, healthy cholesterol levels and others such as weight management.

The company also launched an ultra-high daily dosage 1500mg Turmeric Curcumin supplement, formulated withnatural turmeric powder, curcumin extract, and BioPerine® black pepper extract for enhanced absorption.

Turmeric/curcumin is known for its anti-inflammatory properties and for relieving joint pain. It has been scientificallyproven to aid anti-aging in the brain, improve cardiovascular health and numerous other conditions. These includedegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s, atherosclerosis arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, anti-allergyproperties as well as skin and eye health.

Coenzyme Q10, more commonly known, as CoQ10 is also one of DNA-Shift’s recommended anti-aging supplementsto be taken regularly. DNA-Shift offers a 200mg capsule of CoQ10, making it a potent formula to aid with bloodpressure spikes, and to replenish natural CoQ10 levels which lower with age and tend to be reduced by statincholesterol-lowering drugs. Studies have shown CoQ10 to fight free radicals, enhance immunity, aid brain function(alertness, stress, and migraine prevention), increase cellular energy production to enhance stamina andendurance, healthy weight management, reduce inflammation, skin health, and enhance fertility in men, along withmany other anti-aging benefits for your biological clock.
