The Opening SceneFirst is a tracking shot through a very expensive manor

house. (Handheld Steadicam)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpHGg6slWdgThis link gives a brief idea of our opening scene however

we want to track it from the open front door of the house going through to the open back door.

Page 5: Exchange Fri Nov

In the Garden

When we go through the back door we see a mother playing with her daughter and their dog. It’s a wide shot.

This represents happiness and laughter and shows an obvious bond between the mother and daughter.

Page 6: Exchange Fri Nov

In the Office

• An ECU of a hand opening a draw… in the draw is a gun

Page 7: Exchange Fri Nov
Page 8: Exchange Fri Nov

• The gun gets picked up and put into the trouser of the beholder, all the time not seeing the mobster’s face

Page 9: Exchange Fri Nov

• We track the mobster to the window where he looks out the window and watches his family play… we see the back of his head and the main focus point is what's going on outside

Page 10: Exchange Fri Nov

• It then zooms out and we see the mobster’s reflection and in the reflection we see a man with a look of terror, sadness and longing.

Page 11: Exchange Fri Nov

• He then proceeds to pick up a silver brief case and walks over to the desk where he opens it. The viewers don’t see what’s in it. This adds a sense of mystery to the scene

Page 12: Exchange Fri Nov

Getting into the Car

• We see a track shot of the man walking out his front door and getting into his very expensive car. He then drives up the drive and the shot is held watching the car accelerate up the drive.

Page 13: Exchange Fri Nov

Back in the Garden

• We than see the mother and daughter again and then the mother gets up hearing the car drive out… the look on her face suggests she didn’t know her husband was going out. The daughter carries on playing unaware. In this shot you will see the mother and a looking space.

Page 14: Exchange Fri Nov

The Exchange

• The car pulls up to a wood that is remote and no one can be seen

Page 15: Exchange Fri Nov

• We see the mobsters feet walking briskly and the bottom of the brief case too

Page 16: Exchange Fri Nov

• It then zooms out and there is a wide shot of the mobster and one other man staring at each other.

Page 17: Exchange Fri Nov

• The next close up is an extreme close up of the briefcase being exchanged.

Page 18: Exchange Fri Nov

• The mobster walks away, gets in his car and drives off. We see the man he exchanged with and then it cuts to two butch like men with beards come out from behind a tree both with a gun.

Page 19: Exchange Fri Nov

• It then cuts to the mobster back at home walking in the house.

Page 20: Exchange Fri Nov

• He sits down at the dining table with his family and begins to eat dinner

Page 21: Exchange Fri Nov

• An ECU of his mobile phone ringing

Page 22: Exchange Fri Nov

• The mobster picks it up and looks terrified

Page 23: Exchange Fri Nov

• The mobster suddenly screaming makes his family get in the car saying things like ‘I’m going to take you to the station. Go and stay with your mother’

Page 24: Exchange Fri Nov

• As they get in the car, the mobster sees two men by a tree (the same two men who were with the man the mobster exchanged with). He goes to open the boot to put suitcases in there and the dog that they were playing with previously is dead in the boot.

Our Target Audience

Our audience is aimed at the age of 15+. Although our opening sequence doesn’t involve blood and guts we want to portray a more sophisticated thriller with mind games and twists.

Page 30: Exchange Fri Nov

• The man in the woods:

Page 31: Exchange Fri Nov

• The two men in suits:• Berika • Zurab

Page 32: Exchange Fri Nov

Locations

• The house used by the mobster and his family could be Cornhill. However, the inside can’t be used there as it needs to be grand and expensive.

Page 33: Exchange Fri Nov

• Luckily Hurtwood is situated in a wood, therefore we have a great deal amount of options to shoot the scene in the wood.

Page 34: Exchange Fri Nov
