General overview

WHAT IS ETP?

• ETP is a European Commission funded programme providing

European companies with the business, language and cultural

training necessary for success in the Japanese and Korean

markets

• The ETP provides participants with on the ground experience

and insider knowledge of the Japanese and Korean business

and cultural environments

• ETP is the foundation of a company’s business strategy for

entering the Japanese and Korean markets

financed and managed by the European Commission

WHY ETP?

Trade opportunities

Japan and Korea are the 6th and 9th biggest trading partners of the EU. EU

and Korea have signed a Free Trade Agreement.

Adapting to local business practices

The way business is done in Japan and Korea is so vastly different to how it is

done in Europe that companies and executives doing business there need to

be provided with specialist skills and insights necessary to succeed there

Lasting impact

Sending staff to ETP brings long-term impact on the company in terms of

export/import/investment/cooperation

financed and managed by the European Commission

SUCCESSFUL RESULTS

• To date, over 1000 European managers have successfully

graduated from ETP, having been sent by over 800 companies from

more than 20 different sectors

two fold and ETP alumni’s salary increases by 350% within ten years

of completing ETP

• More than 65% of ETP alumni proceed to become top executives

within their companies

• Executives from 15 of the top 20 European companies have taken

part in ETP

• Training by internationally recognised universities leads to real

business opportunities
