Washington has a new election system

In each race for partisan office, the two candidates who received the most votes in theAugust Primary advance to the November General Election.

Each candidate for partisan office may state a political party that he or she prefers. Acandidate's preference does not imply that the candidate is nominated or endorsed bythe party, or that the party approves of or associates with that candidate.

The election for President and Vice-President is different. Candidates for President andVice President are the official nominees of their party.

Washington has a new Primary!

You do not have to pick a party. In each race, you may vote for anycandidate listed. The two candidates who receive the most votes inthe August Primary will advance to the November General Election.

Each candidate for partisan office may state a political party that heor she prefers. A candidate's preference does not imply that thecandidate is nominated or endorsed by the party, or that the partyapproves of or associates with that candidate.
