Optimized Fault Management Alarm Portal
Alarm Blacklisting Facility
ReliaTel 4.0 provides a new optimized Fault Management Alarm Portal to significantly streamline the workflow of operational
teams responsible for diagnosing and resolving faults before they impact service levels. All alarm handling activities are
integrated into the portal, including extensive alarm filtering, in-line alarm edit capabilities, and instant “right-click” access to
interactive diagnostic actions specific to the type of alarm and device involved. Through the new Alarm Portal, navigation is
streamlined by eliminating the need to use multiple separate panes, which increases the productivity and efficiency of
operational teams. The new Alarm Portal includes:
+Right-click access to all alarm diagnostic actions, alarm history, and alarm details
+In-line alarm editing capabilities to quickly access, edit, acknowledge, and clear alarms
+Paginated alarms list for increased performance when managing large volumes of alarms
+Enhanced performance handling for multi-select and mass changes to alarms
+Additional filter capabilities to perform more complex alarm selection criteria
The ReliaTel 4.0 Alarm Blacklisting Facility enables users to create dynamic customized rules that suppress alarms based on
user-defined conditions and unique events that are considered unimportant when managing faults within the environments.
Operations teams are often burdened by large quantities of alarms that do not
represent priority issues, and do not require immediate attention. This alarm
“noise” clutters screens, and slows the process of addressing critical issues that
need attention. Through ReliaTel Alarm Blacklisting, much of the unnecessary
“noise” of non-critical alarms can be eliminated by limiting the active alarms view
to just the relevant alerts. As a result, operations teams can focus on the
important alarms and issues facing the organization.
Users with “operate” permissions within ReliaTel can create Blacklist rules based
on any event. Future occurrences of that event which match the rule conditions
will not produce alarms. Alarm Black List capabilities include:
+Instant access to Alarm Blacklist rules from the new Fault Management Alarm Portal
+Rule creation using regular expressions
+Audit trail of events that were disabled due to Alarm Blacklist rules
+Segregated view of blacklisted alarms that identifies which rules(s) triggered the blacklist event

AccessPlus Extended Remote Access
The ReliaTel 4.0 Prioritized Traceroute facility enables operations teams to quickly pinpoint the specific network segment where
issues are occurring, for both network infrastructure issues as well as VoIP call quality issues. Through Prioritized Traceroute,
users can instantly launch an on-demand traceroute session to any managed device or IP address to immediately troubleshoot
any type of IP route. Using ReliaTel Traceroute cuts down diagnostic time, helps expedite problem resolution, and aids in
identifying the origin of issues in the IP network and the call transport infrastructure which need to be addressed.
In VoIP and UC environments, ReliaTel Traceroute enables support teams to trace the network path that calls have traveled,
and view detailed metrics and trending on a per session and per network segment basis to diagnose where call quality
degradation or performance degradation originated.
ReliaTel Traceroute results are delivered as live views, trend views for per session results, and per hop views for trace
analysis. The ReliaTel Traceroute facility allows priority tagging of traceroute sessions, and enables users to schedule
traceroutes to remote destinations. ReliaTel Prioritized Traceroutes include:
+Instant access to launch an on-demand traceroute session to any entity or IP address from a ReliaTel DAP
+Ability to schedule traceroute sessions to multiple remote entities or IP addresses
+Options to define traceroutes for ICMP or UDP with priority values for TOS/Diffserv
ReliaTel prioritized traceroute can be used
to baseline the unmanaged carrier routes
of SIP trunks for voice RTP sessions by
scheduling traceroutes to remote sites
based on setting unique packet priorities
for UDP sessions.
The ReliaTel 4.0 AccessPlus capability delivers a secured and standardized method to remotely access ReliaTel-managed
devices throughout both the Enterprise ecosystem, as well as the remote client environments of Managed Service Providers.
AccessPlus enables technicians to proxy access to both terminal and GUI based consoles of ReliaTel-managed devices, and
interact with those device consoles through the users preferred method.
AccessPlus speeds diagnostics and problem resolution, and is particularly beneficial for Managed Service Providers that need
access to clients' managed devices to resolve issues within SLA windows. Through AccessPlus, MSPs can significantly lower
operational costs by eliminating expensive and time consuming travel to client sites to resolve problems.
