Children ages three years to
10 years learn about new babies,
what to expect when mom goes
to the hospital and how to help
at home. Children practice with a
doll; please bring a doll or stuffed

Childbirth Experience #2
This class is taught by a
certified lactation counselor
who reviews breast feeding
(pumping/storing, positioning
your baby, tips for succcess)
and newborn care in the
early days and beyond.
Offered FREE, this
class provides information
about why breast feeding
is the BEST choice for
baby and mother.
Fathers/support persons welcome.
Class held from 6:30—8:30 pm in the OB class-
room. Registration required. Call 217-876-3400.
Breast feeding support: Internationally board
certified lactation consultants and certified
lactation counselors are available FREE of
charge to assist with breast feeding during your
inpatient stay as well as after discharge. We will
weigh your baby, check latch and positioning
and assist with any of your questions or con-
cerns. Call 217-876-3400.
Safe Sitter Class
This one-session class
teaches 11—13 year-old girls and
boys how to handle emergencies and
provide safe child care. Participants
should bring a sack lunch. Drinks/snack
provided. The class costs $30 and
meets from 9 am—3 pm in the OB
classroom. Registration required;

In BeTWEEN for Girls
Girls, ages nine to
12 years, are invited (along with a
parent) to learn more about the life
issues that are important for teens to
know: health, physical and emotional
changes of puberty, the reproductive
system, the importance of nutrition
and exercise, caring for your body,
coping with new feelings and relationships. The
one-day class is held from 10—11:30 am in the
OB classroom and is FREE of charge.
