ON‐SITE TRAINING

Frasers Aerospace offers a range of dedicated, specific personal training and instructional courses for various elements of Aircraft Detailing. These courses are designated ‘Pass/Fail’ and as such are not designed just for ‘attendance only’ but will re-pay careful attention and study during the training, prior to examination by a time-served instructor at the end of the training. We believe that this type of course is of much more benefit to the individual attendee and his company and thus the final certificate will have to be won, not just given. Our training courses are designed to be practical, relevant, participative and cover all of the techniques and skills required to complete a professional job, wherever you may be based. Emphasis is placed on identifying individual learning objectives in order that delegates receive maximum value from the course and take away the necessary skill-set to train other team members in the future. Our training courses consist of both theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical training. BENEFITS OF FRASERS AEROSPACE TRAINING COURSES: · ‘Professional Competency’ certification included (subject to passing

the training course) · Training in the safe use of our chemicals, equipment and machinery · Comprehensive printed materials, including in-depth theoretical

literature and usage guides · Use of equipment and materials required for training provided by

Frasers Aerospace at no extra cost · Training can be tailored to the specific task(s) that you are

undertaking (inc. working on live aircraft) · Participative training – we will observe your staff and correct

improper technique from the start · Free consultation on setting up your facility/workshop · ‘Questions and answers’ session at the cessation of training, ensuring

your staff are happy with what they’ve learnt.

Free after-sales care – call us anytime!

Page 4: EXTERNAL APPEARANCE CATALOGUE COVERs643462637.websitehome.co.uk/.../2016/...CATALOGUE.pdf · portfolio boasts an impressive range of products, providing complete aircraft cleaning

Training will usually begin with some classroom style theoretical and background learning – the seminar as we call it, which we find to be incredibly useful. If you want to learn how to dry-wash an aircraft for example, it’s beneficial to understand a little bit about paint – such as how/why it oxidises, how you halt the deterioration and stop it deteriorating further, how it could have been avoided/slowed in the first place, and what you can do to improve its’ current appearance – leading nicely into the use of our products.

As well as traditional methods and techniques consider the ‘Industry Standards’ we at Frasers Aerospace have developed our own processes – aimed increasing efficiency, adapting to incorporate technological advancements and ever-changing rules/regulations and adapting to the individual requirements of our clients. For example, we have improved on traditional ‘Brightwork’ polishing methods with the inclusion of market-leading cushioned abrasive technologies, which reduce man-hours and help achieve a flawless and consistent finish. So far,

everyone we have trained in our new methods have adopted them as their new ‘standard’ process. One of the benefits of participative training is that instructors can offer real-time feedback and advice, ensuring that good technique and working practises are employed right from the start. It’s also key to ensuring that the working environment is safe, and that your operation runs as efficiently as possible. If you have specific (non-standard) requirements or are working to a specification (OEM or in-house) we are happy to incorporate them into our training programme(s) to ensure that you get maximum value for money – complete customer satisfaction is one of our key objectives.

Extreme economy through very low material use and time reduction

Unpolished Aluminium, New, lightly corroded or typically oxidized metal condition:  Compound buff with NuShine II Grade G6. Buff an area 24” X 18” with circular buffer (1600-2000 rpm) and wool compounding (not std. loose wool) pad. Place wet fingerprints of polish every 3” or so. Use a small amount of polish. Buff until residue clears (45-60 seconds with proper amount of polish). Too much polish reduces effectiveness. Finish with grade S and orbital style buffer with cotton sweatshirt flannel material over the face of the pad(s) for highest image clarity.

Stainless Steel, Titanium, or Non‐clad Aluminium:  Start with grade F7 (smooth surface) or F9 (for rough, or “mill” finish), repeat surface smoothing compound buffing until surface is smooth & shiny. Finish with grade S and orbital style buffer with cotton sweatshirt flannel material over the face of the pad(s) for highest image clarity and no need for additional handwork.

Finishing/Restoring Already Polished Aluminium:  Use NuShine II Grade S. Put a very sparing amount of polish - merely fingerprints of polish every 6” or so, over the same size area as above. Buff as above with cotton flannel. Buffing area should clear of residue in 45-60 seconds with correct amount of polish. Watch the extreme depth and clarity of image come up! Grade C may be needed prior to final polish with grade S if light oxidation has formed.

Grading System

S - Final finish only, polish upkeep, paint finishing A - Light oxidation removal or hand polishing in tight areas C - Rain spotting & light oxidation removal, removal of cloudy look G6 - “Smart abrasive” - quick cut, but reduces to fine finish similar to “C” F7 - Polishing smooth stainless steel, blending scratches in aluminium F9 - Heavy cut, for clad or non-alclad aluminium, forged or cast parts F10 - Very heavy cut, for clad or non-alclad aluminium, forged or cast parts

NuShine II is not environmentally restricted. Users should use standard safety precautions, such as wearing gloves and eye protection along with any other standard safety procedures. Refer to Material Safety Data Sheet for further information.

Product Name NuGlaze with PFS

Manufacturer Nuvite

Part Number N205

Available Pack Sizes 1 US Gallon

Qualifications Douglas CSD #1, Boeing D6-17487, AMS 1650

Nuvite NuGlaze with PFS* is a super paint treatment, to maintain a super high gloss “show quality” finish for gelcoat or painted surfaces in new or excellent condition. The exclusive *PolyFluoro Sealant gives a hard shine surface that resists environmental effects to maintain the gloss and colour against the effects of airborne chemicals and ultraviolet radiation. NuGlaze with PFS* can also be used as a final step for maximum protection for the surface gloss and colour after using Nuvite’s NuPol or NuPower II ‘drywash’ cleaner/polishes. With regular NuGlaze with PFS* use, a surface barrier is maintained that will resist dirt staining and make the surface easy to clean. NuGlaze with PFS* is simple to use and avoids complicated setups and does not require special application/buffing equipment. Nuvite’s research has produced a breakthrough - a polyfluoro compound that will actually adhere to the paint at normal temperatures, unlike current popular coatings that require extreme temperatures for adhesion. Nuvite NuGlaze with PFS* is a technologically advanced paint treatment, and the best thing you can do to maintain and protect your new or near-new gelcoat and painted surfaces.

Adds a hard shine PolyFluoro Sealant gloss surface on painted surfaces in good to excellent condition Seals surface and leaves a protective coating against U/V and atmospheric corrosion/salt spray/pollution Can be used as a “final finish” after dry-washing with Nuvite’s NuPol and/or NuPower II Easy and fast application without power tools or special setups Safe to all aircraft components Preserves and protects substrate Easy application in all climates

For Clean, Near‐New or Excellent Condition Surfaces:  Apply NuGlaze with PFS* “as-is” to clean, smooth cotton towel or flannel and spread over a small enough area to be continuously worked. Do not allow wet material to dry or to form a white haze on the surface during application procedure. Work material continuously and evenly onto surface and continue until material appears to be gone, then move to next area. Allow treated area to cure (usually no more than 5-20 minutes

Spray an area you can comfortably clean before the Wash Wax ALLdries Take the damp towel and wipe the area you just sprayed with Wash Wax ALL. (If the aircraft is not very dirty, you can skip this step.) Dry the area with a dry towel before the Wash Wax ALL dries Continue using steps 3 through 5 for the rest of the aircraft, unfolding and re-folding the towels to expose new clean sides. Work your way down to the lower portions of the aircraft. We recommend cleaning the windows last. The process is the same throughout the entire aircraft; spray on and wipe off. Replace the towels as needed when they become dirty.

For hard to reach areas, we recommend using the Wash Wax Mop For areas of the aircraft that have dried on bugs, we recommend you pre-spray the area with Wash Wax ALL (Blue) and let it soak for

10-15 minutes. After it has soaked in, re-spray the area and use the Aero Scrubber to break up the bugs. Then, use a towel to dry and clean the area before the Wash Wax ALL dries

Product Name Buff Pro

Manufacturer Buff Pro

Part Number BFP026

Available Pack Sizes

Qualifications

The BuffPro Buffer is the only electrically operated drum style buffer on the market. The BuffPro uses a drum instead of a traditional rotary design. Because of its design, it has several advantages over other buffing systems:

Faster buffing and polishing. The BuffPro allows you to finish a job in half the time. Super comfortable to work. The BuffPro was designed by a professional detailer to be used all day long. No swirl marks – ever. The BuffPro drum makes it impossible to produce swirl marks.

Swirl marks are impossible with BuffPro. Traditional rotary buffers can leave swirl marks even when used carefully. It is literally impossible to make swirl marks with BuffPro. Swirl marks are produced by the rotation of a traditional buffer. But BuffPro rotates axially. This means that even a complete amateur can do a professional polishing job on any automotive, marine or aviation equipment the very first time. BuffPro is exceptionally comfortable. The ergonomic pistol grips of the BuffPro Buffer keep hand and wrist fatigue to a minimum. No more weird wrist positions required – the BuffPro was designed to be used all day long without discomfort. BuffPro can polish almost anything Any relatively flat, smooth surface can be polished using BuffPro in about half the time of traditional methods. This includes Bare metal, Painted surfaces, Stone, Plastic and Fiberglass. Multiple buffing pads are available for a variety of uses; including cutting, polishing, finishing and even sanding. BuffPro was designed by a professional detailer for other detailers. Everything about BuffPro has been designed so that professional detailers get the best shine for their customers with the least time and effort. The BuffPro uses centrifugal force to keep the polishing compound toward the outside of the pad, reducing splatters and keeping pads cleaner, longer. This cuts down on the amount of chemicals used and reduces the need for masking. The BuffPro has an electric motor, heat treated precision cut gears and a variable speed locking trigger for ease of use – even for detailers who operate mobile shops.

Manufacturer Buff and Shine, USA Part Number BFP019Available Pack Sizes Qualifications

Circular buffer compounding pad as recommended in Nuvite Detailed Metal Polishing Procedures. A Compounding Pad with 7” diameter with 1” to 1 1/4" tufted wool face pile and hook & loop drive backing should be used. Works great with most popular brands of circular buffers. Use with Nuvite NuShine II compounding grades F7 & F9, G6, or C to“heal” the aluminium surface. This preps the surface to make it ready to take “The Nuvite Look” final step with a Random Orbital buffer and NuShine II grade S. Buy several, as we recommend changing pads each time you change grades for best results.

Cyclo Polishers are precision machined and hand assembled for a lifetime of trouble-free operation. The Cyclo Polisher’s dual heads orbit in a random, overlapping motion that mimics fine hand polishing, and leaves a dazzling, swirl-free shine every time. The Cyclo Dual Head Orbital Polisher is one of the most effective means of polishing available, for novices and experts alike. It’s safe and easy to operate, and provides professional results every time. The difference lies in the tool’s overall balance and its patented dual heads. The dual heads operate in a synchronised motion, providing the most effective results without fear of heat build-up; damage to trim pieces, moldings and gaskets; swirl marks, holograms and more. The low-vibration and balanced design allow for a more even application and better control when operating. Frasers Aerospace also stock Cyclo accessories, including Velcro/hook and loop boots for attaching polishing pads, hard and medium-hard polishing pads, fleece-wraps for final finish polishing and more.

The ‘Aerobuf’ Twin-Head Orbital Polisher is an extremely cost-effective solution for polishing painted and metal surfaces to high-gloss or mirror-finish shines. Its twin-heads oscillate (rather than rotating/spinning) in an overlapping motion, which simulates hand-polishing and results in a finish free of the ‘swirl marks’ left by rotary buffers/polishers. Aimed primarily at the lighter-use and hobbyist markets they cost around a third the price of industrial-use equivalents such as the Cyclo® 6CE. Perfect for infrequent ‘brightwork’ polishing jobs, or polishing your vintage caravan or classic car.

Oscillating motion to simulate hand-polishing Variable speed control for greater precision Sturdy, high-quality plastic housing Lightweight and portable High-torque motor with cooling fan Long-life carbon brushes Well-balanced, ergonomic design Compatible with Cyclo® polishing pads Fitted with a standard UK power plug (Type G / BS 1363) Suitable for use in many industries, including Aerospace, Automotive and Marine. Product Name Cyclo Wraps

Manufacturer Frasers Aerospace Part Number N036 Available Pack Sizes Packs of 10 wraps. Each cloth is 80 x 100 cm Qualifications

100% Cotton-face, virgin cotton flannel (fleece) used with random orbital buffers, Cyclo or AeroBuff with NuShine II Grade S to get that final ‘Nuvite Look’ of extreme depth and image in your polished metal. Each cloth is pre-cut with slots to allow multiple position use with the buffers. When dirty, cloths can be washed, dried and re-used many times.

We recommend using a fleece/flannel polishing cloth to remove swirl (strike marks) and to achieve that “Champion

Class” clarity of image resolution. The consensus is that the best cloth for polishing aluminium is cotton fleece.

Basically this cloth is similar to the cotton cloth used in an expensive ski sweatshirt. Soft thin fleece on one side and

a synthetic knit on the other. Hence the term 95/5 polishing cloth represents 95% cotton and 5% backing. The

fleece side goes against the aluminium and applies the polish to the aluminium surface. Polishing cloths are made

from 13 ounce 100% cotton presents easy handling/wrapping for the Cyclo double head &/or various single head

random orbital polishers Begin using the polishing cloth by:

1. Taking a corner and pulling it up over D handle on top of Cycle.

2. Bring in the side corners to handle.

3. Then the tail of the fabric is then rolled up and wrapped around the motor housing to the front handle.

To see in detail how this is done, refer to the Use of a Random Orbital Polisher. Each cloth will provide numerous

polishing positions as shown. The cloth stays in place while you polish. You don't have to pay constant attention to

keeping the cloth properly positioned under the heads of the polisher. When clean cloth is needed it can be

brought under the polishing heads by reposition the cloth. Polishing Cloth are washable and provide added value to

your overall program. You can generally wash and reuse the cloth at least 5 times before it gets worn too thin.
