Summer 2018
November 17th was a great evening for the 1999 Class Reunion at Braxton Brewery. The
20th reunion was a ton of fun for all who stopped by.
Led by Stacey Kuhl Luken plus help from Mandie Frilling, Tina Davis Bacon, and
Mandy Lewis, the 25th reunion was held at the Keystone Bar and Grill on October
19th and was a blast.
A joint Scott-Dixie Reunion was held on September 7th at the Hollywood Ca-
sino. A special thanks to Melissa Eldridge Baker who spearheaded the project.
The alums who came had a great time.
The 2009 Ten Year Reunion was celebrated on October 19th at Mac’s Pizza in
Covington. Everyone talked, laughed, and had a good time. Thanks to Christina
Murray for putting the celebration together.
This picture was taken at the previ-
ous reunion as none are available
from the event at Mac’s. The
gathering took everyone’s attention
and pictures got lost in the shuffle .
Scott HS and the Eagle Club provided the best experience possible for the 2020 graduates as the pandemic
changed the 2019-2020 school year. Large Picture Signs were posted in the yards of the graduates. The
Signs were later moved to the front yard of Scott so everyone driving by or walking by could see them.
This was followed by a drive through graduation as each graduate was celebrated.
Staff Notes Dr. Brennan Sapp has chosen to retire from Scott on July 1st.
Shane Rogers retired from Scott in early 2020. A retirement celebration was held in the cafeteria.
Lee Turner was hired to replace Shane Rogers and has served as one of the assistant principals since.
Ian Olano ‘10 has returned to Scott to teach Math.
After a review of the qualified candidates who plan to go into teaching, Layla Russell was cho-
sen by the scholarship committee to receive the Peggy Hyde Memorial Scholarship. For those
who don’t know Peggy was She was a retired teacher who had spend her whole career teach-
ing History at Scott. She passed as a result of Cancer not long after retiring. She would have
been delighted at the choice of highly qualified and motivated Layla to carry the torch. Con-
gratulations to Layla for her high school career and best wishes on becoming a teacher.
