OPEN HOUSE The Knights of Columbus of St.

Veronica are holding an OPEN

HOUSE on Sunday, April 15th, (today) after 11:00 a.m. Mass in the

parish gym. The entire family and friends are invited to come and see what the Knights have to offer for the benefit of the family. We will have our insurance agent, Dave Parker available to answer your questions on protecting the family and investments as well as our members to answer on what we are all about. We will be serving a lunch of hot dogs, chips and pop, etc. There is no obligation or hard sell to join but just to make everyone aware of what we do so you can decide if you like what we offer and do plan to consider becoming a member at some point in the future. Please attend.

Gianna House Dear Parishioners, Gianna House sends you wishes during this Blessed Easter Season. As always, we are so very grateful for your constant support of our ministry. We so appreciate the items that you frequently donate. You might like an update and to know that during this past year of 2017, Gianna House provided 658 services: giving out needed baby items 374 times, hosting 103 mothers at our quarterly showers, holding classes with 146 sessions attended, and marking referral 35 times, This is well over the 244 mothers helped in 2016. We are blessed with many Partners (Volunteers) who help in so many ways, some of whom are St. Veronica Parishioners. The installation of the fire and safety items in the house, including the sprinkler system now required from the basement to attic and in every room, should begin any time now. We await the approval of the plans from the state to begin the installation. Since our wish list changes constantly according to current donations that have come in, our current needs are:

• Baby Toiletries, baby shampoo, lotion, Desitin (Greatly Needed)

• Clothes for newborns only. Have plenty of all other infant sizes.

• Diapers only sizes newborn and 4,5,6. We are overstocked on others.

• Shower gel, bars of soap, liquid and hand soap.

• Toothbrushes and toothpaste.

• Gift cards for food, Gordon’s, Costco, Kroger, Aldi.

• Gift cards for Dollar Tree, CVS.

• Stamps

• Cash

Faith Formation Continued Easter Blessings!

As spring weather finally arrives, we see many signs of new life-flowers blooming, trees sprouting leaves, grass turning green, birds nesting. It is truly time to awaken from our sleep. It is a time to give new life to our bodies and souls. Fresh fruits and vegetables will soon be at the market and the longer hours of sunlight gives us more time to be out and active. Let us also celebrate the new life in our spirit as we rejoice in our salvation, won for us on the cross and shown to us the empty tomb. We remember the great day of Confirmation just a few weeks ago, and the great celebration of Easter Sunday. And soon we celebrate the First Holy Communion with our young parishioners. Enjoy a new springtime of life in the Church and bask in the light of the Risen Lord. Alleluia!

Faithful Departed

Joann Giovanna Frederick (nee: Todaro) died April 2, 2018. Age 73. Beloved wife of Ronald for 57 years. Dear sister to her late twin brother Joseph Todaro and sister Josephine Cerrone (the late Steven). Loving mother of John Frederick, Annice Frederick, Michael Frederick and Michelle Agosta (Tony). Proud and loving grandmother of Evan, John, Adriana, Gia and Luna. Also survived by her loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Joann was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, caretaker, and cook. She took pride in her Sicilian cooking and served many delicious meals with love. She was a volunteer in the Women’s Club of St. Malachy and initiated the funeral lunch program that fed many families during their time of need. She loved traveling with her husband and dear friends. She was a devoted mother of her four children and her five grandchildren. She lived a compassionate life with a strong Catholic faith and was a good friend to many. Visitation took place at the Wujek Calcaterra Funeral Home. Burial was at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy. Please Keep Joann and her family in your prayers. May she rest in peace.
