Use 1⁄4 - inch seam allowance throughout, a small stitch length, and press seams open. Lay the cuff strip, right side up, lengthwise. Lay the body fabric, right side up, on top of the cuff strip so that the top edges are even. Press the accent strip, wrong sides together, lengthwise and lay it on top of the body fabric so that all edges are even. Use a few pins along the top edges to hold all the layers together. Fabric Requirements... 1 yard for standard pillowcase body⅓ yard for pillowcase cuff ⅛ yard for pillowcase accent trim

Yardage is based on 42 - inch wide fabric.

Cutting Instructions...

From print for body: Cut 1, 271⁄2 x 42 - inch rectangle

From print for cuff: Cut 1, 9 ½ x 42 - inch strip

From print for accent trim: Cut 1, 2 x 42 - inch strip

Pillowcase Assembly... Use 1⁄4 - inch seam allowance throughout,a small stitch length, and press seams open.

• Lay the cuff strip, right side up, lengthwise.

• Lay the body fabric, right side up, on top of the cuff strip so that the top edges are even.

• Press the accent strip, wrong sides together, lengthwise and lay it on top of the body fabric so that all edges are even.

• Use a few pins along the top edges to hold all the layers together.

• Beginning at the bottom, roll the body fabric up toward the top pinned edges.

• When you can see the bottom edge of the cuff, gently pull the cuff over the rolled body fabric to create a tube. Pin well making sure not to catch the rolled portion of the body fabric in the seam.

• Stitch ¼ - inch along the top edge of the tube. You will be stitching through 5 layers…cuff, body, 2 edges of the accent fabric and then the other cuff edge.

• Gently pull the body fabric out of the tube and press the accent strip away from the cuff.

• Fold the pillowcase wrong sides together. Make sure to match the cuff and accent pieces along the side. Pin as needed. Sew a scant ¼ - inch seam down the side and then across the bottom of the case.

* Remember you are sewing on the right side of the fabric!

• Turn the pillowcase wrong side out and press.

• Sew a very generous ¼ - inch seam down the side of the pillowcase and then again across the bottom of the case being sure not to catch the previous seam.

* Remember this time you are sewing on the wrong side of the fabric.

• Turn pillowcase right side out and press.
