Fabric A - Dark Red Print (40363-5) Cut 1 strip 2” x WOF then sub-cut into 16 - 2”x2” squares Cut 3 strips 1” x WOF Cut 3 strips 3 1/2“ x WOF (Binding)
Fabric B - Beige Tonal (40360-1) Cut 6 strips 1” x WOF Cut 3 strips 2” x WOF, then sub-cut into 2 - 2” x 8 1/2” rectangles (sashing strips), 3 - 2” x18” rectangles (sashing strip, and top and bottom borders) and 2 - 2” x 21” rectangles (side borders)
Fabric C - Dark Yellow Print (40365-7) Cut 16 - 1 1/4” X 1 1/4” Squares
Fabric D - Yellow Stripe (40366-7) Cut 16 -1 1/4” x 4” rectangles

I used fabric from the Tree of Life Fabric collection by Mary Koval for Windham Fabrics. The SKU numbers listed are for the fabrics from that line. If you choose to use other fabbrics begin with the focus print (center square of block) and pick out background and other fabrics that complement your focus fabric.

ASSEMBLYAll seams are 1/4”
STRIP SET A
Create strip sets to form the outer portion of the block. Sew 2 - 1” x WOF strips of Fabric B to either side of a - 1” x WOF strip of Fabric A. Repeat with remaining strips to form 3 strips sets.
Sub-cut these strip sets into 16 - 2 “ x 5 1/2”
Sew two 1 1/4” x 4” rectangular strips of Fabric D to opposite sides of 4”x 4” square of Fabric E.
Sew four 1 1/4” x 1 1/4” squares of Fabric C to opposite ends of two 1 1/4” x 4” rectangular strips of Fabric D.
Then sew these units to the top and bottom of the previous unit.
Take 2 Strip Set A blocks and sew to opposite sides of the previous unit
Take 4 - 2” x 2” squares and sew to opposite ends of 2 Strip Set A units
Sew three more identical blocks
Sew these new units to the top and bottomof the previous unit to create the block
BLOCK - FInished size 8”x8” - Make 4

ASSEMBLYING THE QUILT TOP
Sew a 2” x 8 1/2” sashing strip of Fabric B between two blocksrepeat with a second set of blocks to create a second row
Sew a 2” x 18” sashing strip of Fabric B between these two rows
Sew a 2” x 18” Border strip of Fabric B to the top and bottom of the quilt

Sew a 2” x 21” border strip of Fabric B to the sides of the quilt to complete the quilt top
Layer backing, batting, and top together and baste. Quilt as desiredBind quilt with 1/2 �nished binding
