John 12:12-19

Matthew 16:21-2421 From that time on Jesus began to explain to

his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.

22 Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. “Never, Lord!” he said. “This shall never happen to you!”

Matthew 16:21-24 23 Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind

me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men.”

24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

Luke 9:51“As the time approached for him to

be taken up to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem.”

John 12:12-1912 The next day the great crowd that had come

for the Feast heard that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem. 13 They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting,

“Hosanna!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the

Lord!” “Blessed is the King of Israel!”

John 12:12-1914 Jesus found a young donkey and sat

upon it, as it is written, 15 “Do not be afraid, O Daughter of Zion;

see, your king is coming, seated on a donkey’s colt.”

John 12:12-1916 At first his disciples did not understand

all this. Only after Jesus was glorified did they realize that these things had been written about him and that they had done these things to him.

John 12:12-19 17 Now the crowd that was with him when he

called Lazarus from the tomb and raised him from the dead continued to spread the word. 18 Many people, because they had heard that he had given this miraculous sign, went out to meet him. 19 So the Pharisees said to one another, “See, this is getting us nowhere. Look how the whole world has gone after him!”

Revelation 19:11-1511 I saw heaven standing open and there before

me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. 12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself.

Revelation 19:11-1513 He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and

his name is the Word of God. 14 The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.”
