Message from Assistant Vicar

Dearly beloved in Christ,

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Grace and peace to you all from God our

Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our redemption. As I have completed my 3 years

of Priestly ministry, I am grateful to the Lord Almighty for his abundant grace and mercies showered upon

me these past years.

This month we are going to celebrate the 73rd Independence Day on 15th August, 2020. We celebrate

Independence Day, which marks the end of 190 years of British rule in India. Our first Prime Minister,

Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, gave a beautiful speech during First Independence Day, starting with the words,

“At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom.”

For getting Independence, many freedom fighters struggled to make our country free from the Britishers.

In addition, they were the ones who sacrificed their lives for the country. On this day every citizen of our

country pays tribute to them.

As per the church calendar, on 16th August, 2020, we are meditating on theme i.e. Reformation Sunday:

Faith Community which has to be reformed by the Word of God. In Matthew Ch. 7: 24-27, we see that

Jesus Christ said about the parable of two builders who build their home on different surfaces. One builder

built his home on rock (which is Jesus Christ himself), when rain poured down, rivers overflowed and

wind blew hard against that house, it didn't fall because its foundation was on rock. But another builder

built his home on sand, and it fell because of its unusual foundation. Our faith is like that. If our faith is

in strong foundation, and when we obey according to word of God, no one can shake us, even if, that may

be terrible and destructive. For instance, if we look at a tree during a storm; one sees that its branches

and leaves are swaying back and forth violently in the strong wind. We think that the tree will not be able

to withstand the storm. But if we direct our attention down to the trunk of the tree we see things differently.

We see that the tree is solid and deeply rooted in the ground and because it is rooted in the soil, it cannot

be blown away. Similarly, each of us is like a tree. We need to know whom we are trusting. Our trust in

life should always be in Jesus Christ, as Hebrews 13:8 says "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today

and forever." During this Pandemic, God remind us to stand firm on his foundation and not to fear on

what will happen next, as Isaiah 41:10 says, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I

am your God, I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

In Wardha Mission we used to have online worship service, every Sunday and weekly prayer, every

Wednesday. Recently, we distributed essential food kits to all V CARE students. In the situation, where

everyone is facing many problems due to Pandemic COVID 19, I appreciate Wardha Mission and its team

for their contribution in distributing food essential kits to all our 144 V CARE students. I would like to

thank all V CARE sponsors for contributing their hard earned money in sponsoring V CARE kids. May

God bless them and their families. I request you all to pray for Wardha Mission and support us by

sponsoring V CARE students. May God bless you all.

Office desk Dear Members, First of all we would like to thank the Lord Almighty enabling us to cope with the prevalent situation of Corona Virus and the Lock down. By the Grace of God, all of our members except a very few are safe from the Pandemic Covid 19 so far. You may kindly be aware that our Church is extending financial support to our needy members on request either made by them or received through their Prayer Group Representatives. We are always willing to help the needy members, if their difficulties brought to our knowledge. It is not out of place to mention here that we have already spent a good sum towards this charity so far. A few members of our Church whole heartedly donated for this noble cause, for which we are thankful to them. In view of the above, members who have set apart their Tithe for giving to noble causes or financially well off, are requested to support this charity work by way of donating an amount according to his/her will and capacity. The same may please be transferred on line to the below mentioned church bank account. Unfortunately the first quarter of the current financial year ended without conducting any worship service in the Church with the result we had only received around fifty per cent less amount as income compared to the routine church expenses already met. We may likely to face a situation of fund shortage to make the church routine payments in the post coming months, if the income flow is not improved. To overcome this situation, members are requested to kindly make their payment of monthly subscription, offertories of Sundays, Birth Days and Wedding Anniversaries, on line to the below noted church bank account, if possible. • Shri P S George (69 years), Brother in Law (Sister’s Husband) of Abraham Chacko , Malviya Nagar Prayer Group, called to his eternal home on Sunday the 19th July at Chani, Kanjirakulam. Funeral service was held on Tuesday the 21st July at Jehova’s Witnesses’ Cemetry , Paruthippara, TVM.

• Smt. Mariyamma Isaac (100 Years), Mother of His Grace Rt. Rev. Dr. Isaac Mar Philoxenos Episcopa, Bishop of North America-Europe Diocese, called to her eternal home at Cherukole, on Thursday the 16th July and funeral service was held at Mar Thoma Church, Cherukole, Mavelikara on Wednesday the 22nd July.
