Faculty Development Program on Cloud Computing: A three day workshop on Cloud Computing was organized on 1 st , 2 nd and 3 rd November 2012, under the IBM SUR grant. There were 24 participants (12 internal and 12 selected participants from other colleges) The inauguration took place in the presence of Dr. Madhuri Khambete, Principal, MKSSS’s Cummins College of Engineering for Women, Dr. Bhooshan Kelkar, Country Manager,IBM India University Relations, Pune and Mr. Mahesh Paradkar, Development Manager - Cloud Automation Library at India Software Labs, IBM. It was a very fruitful training program well appreciated by all the participants. The sessions were conducted by the following IBMers o Mr. Rahul Nema o Mr. Aditya Thatte o Mr. Sachin Jha o Mr. Shreekants Iyer Workshop objectives: Participants should be able to describe- The basic principles, terminology and business drivers for what is and why cloud computing exists. Provide an overview of components of Cloud architecture and Key management concerns in a Cloud architecture Lifecycle of a Cloud Service and capabilities needed for service management on the Cloud and how Smart Cloud Solution provides the capabilities. Understand the benefits and challenges of SaaS and what IBM middleware can be used to build SaaS applications. Understand the Cloud Market opportunities and research areas. Topics covered: Introduction and Overview Open Source Cloud Open Source Offerings

Faculty Development Program on Cloud Computing:
