WORKSHOPS

Saturday workshops are an additional musical activity NSM offers to our students. You can

find workshop information posted on the monthly calendar

in our Student Information Center outside of the

Administration Office. All students are welcome to attend

a workshop at an additional cost.

However, should a student miss an individual lesson, workshops

are available at no charge. Please notify the Administration

Office if you wish to attend a workshop. Classes are small and

fill up fast.

In addition to contacting NSM via phone and email you can

STUDENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS

NSM would like to congratulate the following students who recently graduated from high school, and leaving to begin a new chapter in their lives.

Peter will be going into the Navy Katherine will be attending college in San Diego Steven will be attending college in Washington Brooke will be attending college in Oregon Olivia will be attending college in San Diego

Also, a special congrats to Kylie and Naysa, who recently auditioned for the Sacramento Youth Symphony and were excepted into their Classical Orchestra. Way to go Kylie and Naysa!

Fall is almost here and so is the NSM Fall Showcase! For those of you who have signed up to participate, please remember to arrive

30 minutes prior to your scheduled performance!

The showcase is open to the public; students not performing are encouraged to attend. Any questions, please contact the

Administration Office.

IMPORTANT DATES • NSM will be closed for Thanksgiving break from Wednesday,

November 27, 2019, through Sunday, December 1st, 2019; lessons will resume December 2, 2019.

• NSM will closed for winter Tuesday, December 24th, 2019, through Thursday, January 2, 2020, lessons will resume Friday, January 3, 2020.

Fun Facts About Fall!

• Americans typically refer to this time of year as “fall”, as were the British use the word “Autumn. • Fall is caused by the Earth’s tilt, not our distance from the sun. • Pumpkin spice has nothing to do with pumpkins. • Fall colors are caused by the amount of sugar in leaves. • Ancient people wore Halloween costumes to hide from ghosts.

ROCK BAND CLASS!

NSM is now offering a “Rock Band Class” for those who want to take their performance to another level! The class is a 3-month course were students will learn how to work in a cohesive rock band, formulate songs with band mates, and play different types of rock genres. Upon completion they will have an opportunity to participate in a performance for family and friends! Auditions for the next Rock Band Class will begin in January 2020, for more information please stop by the Administration Office!

MUSICAL LADDER RECIPIENTS Could your child use some motivation to practice? Check out our Musical Ladder System! Students are rewarded when they pass musical skill tests assigned by their teacher. There are different levels as they work their way up the musical ladder. As they climb the ladder they will receive certificates, wristbands, and trophies.
