Complete 60 transferable semester units, including 30 units of CSU General Education (GE); Complete the following GE courses with grades of a “C-” or better: A1. Oral Communication A2. Written Communication A3. Critical Thinking A4. Mathematics/Quantitative Reasoning; Meet the Major-Specific Criteria (MSC) for your desired major; Achieve a minimum overall transferable GPA of 2.00; Be in good standing at last institution attended; and If needed, satisfy the English Language Proficiency requirements (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, and DuoLingo English). LOCAL AREA ADMISSION GUARANTEE Except for nursing majors, local applicants will be guaranteed admission if they meet all minimum Cal State LA admission requirements, including the Major-Specific Criteria. LOCAL PREFERENCE Based on CSU and campus policies, preference for transfer admission is offered to applicants who are consid- ered local based on their community college, or their military veteran status. Cal State LA gives local preference to all military veterans, regardless of colleges attended. ASSOCIATE DEGREE FOR TRANSFER To facilitate major preparation, applicants are strongly encouraged to earn an Associate Degree for Transfer (AA-T/AS-T) from a California Community College. CALIFORNIA PROMISE PROGRAM The California Promise Program provides additional support to entering transfer students with Associate Degrees for Transfer in completing their remaining requirements for baccalaureate degrees in two years.
