  • A VERY BIG THANK YOU

    FROM WATFORD FOODBANK

for your generous response to their urgent appeal recently.

Sadly the numbers of people in crisis in our town that have turned to the Foodbank

for help has hit unprecedented numbers from November last year.

Therefore there is now an even greater need for us to try to remember to be buying just one item or more, if we feel we can, each time we shop to donate into the

collection boxes at our churches weekly. Items needed most at the moment are:-

Tins of Meat, Stew or Meat in Sauce

    Tinned Fish

Long life Milk (UHT or powdered)

    Long life Fruit Juice

    Sugar

Tinned Sponge puddings & Rice puddings

    Small boxes of Tea Bags

    Small jars of Instant Coffee

    Packets of Biscuits

    Tinned Fruit

    Thank you.

Chris Cottee the long-serving vicar of St Peter's in Watford, who many of us know through Christians Across Watford, New Hope, the Town Centre Chaplaincy, Operation Rudolph and so on, has now had his second novel published, 'A Spring Awakening' which takes the couple from the first book, David and Angela, on a perilous journey through the dark Valleys of winter towards the glories of Spring and Easter. It is a deep book which confronts many of the issues which concern us in these days, yet full of hope. You can purchase a copy by contacting him on email ([email protected]) or by phone (07779841036). Copies are £8 (cash, cheque, or bank transfer to 60-00-08 account 49111841). He will sign them and get them to you as necessary via the church or your home address. Support your local Christian author!

CHRIST CHURCH & ST MARK’S, WATFORD

    MISSION STATEMENT

WE ARE people who are drawn together by our Christian belief and our response to God.

WE BELIEVE that God reveals himself to us in many ways as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and that people can live in a loving relationship with God and with each other in Christ.

WE AIM to follow Christ's teaching and example, living a full life in every community in which we are involved, sharing our faith with others through example, worship and service.
