Dean of Students
One StopOne Stop works with students and parents/guardians in understanding the financial aid process, identifying resources to assist with paying their bill, and working through other university administrative and student business needs.
Laptop Program & Student Computer SpecificationsSNHU students may be required to bring a laptop for their studies. As students use their laptop, they will build vital skills needed in today’s job market. At family.snhu.edu/family, you will find all the information you need on computer hardware and software requirements and more. Penmen CashThe SNHU student ID is a multi-use identification card. It allows users to gain access to events on campus and contains information regarding Dining Dollars, and in certain cases, is used for room access.
Penmen Cash is a debit system that is available for laundry and vending transactions, as well as, the Hospitality Restaurant, Café E Dolce and Barnes & Noble Bookstore. Students may add money to Penmen Cash at the ‘Value Terminal’ located in the Dining Center (cash only), via One Stop during business hours and/or online. Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover are accepted at One Stop and online.
SNHU AlertsSNHU Alerts is an optional emergency-alert text messaging service for students, faculty and staff. SNHU Alerts is just one method the university will use to communicate emer-gency information. We will continue to use a variety of methods as appropriate, including e-mail, telephone and the Web. SNHU uses this notification system to send alerts about • crisis situations affecting the SNHU community • closings, cancellations, or delays of office hours or classes
Note: Students can also sign family members up for this important service.
Important Student Handbook Information The student handbook is a critical document for SNHU students, as it contains many of the institution’s policies, expectations and student rights and responsibilities, as well as important federal compliance information regarding the use of substances.
Communication with Students The university uses campus mail and university e-mail as the official means to communicate with students. It is the responsibility of the student to regularly check both his or her campus mailbox and e-mail account for information from the university. Failure to use these modes of university-to-student communication will not relieve a student for missed deadlines or date responsibilities.
Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) The Family Educational Rights an d Privacy Act, also known as the Buckley Amendment, affords students certain rights with respect to their educational records. Full details of FERPA can be found on the Family Portal and is provided by the University Registrar.
Releasing Information to Parents/Family MembersStudent records regarding academic, financial, social/disciplinary, or other information will not be provided to family/family members unless the student completes an Authorization for Disclosure of Non-Directory Information form and submits it to the Office of the University Registrar specifically authorizing access to his/her “educational record” information.
Parking DecalsAny student bringing a car to campus must obtain a parking decal. Decals are available online beginning on June 22, 2015 by going to http://snhu.thepermitstore.com.
