Jose Francisco Garcia is a renowned spatula oil painter from Tenerife. We met him while travelling across this beautiful island.
He welcomed us into his life, opened up his soul and shared his story.

“One warm afternoon my father took me for a walk to a lush mountain valley in Venezuela. I must have been 7 then...
It was there when I saw a woman painting. But she used a technique I had never seen before. She was using a spatula to add more paint to her pictures. And the effect was spectacular!
I asked my father to buy me one! And since that day I have been using different sized spatulas to give my paintings a 3D touch...”

Painting with a spatula requires adding extra amount of thick oil paint that needs at least one week to dry out.
