WE are a group of food critics, specializing in Singapore’s fast food chains.
Our goal is to evaluate how healthy fast foods are in general, and if they offer healthy choices, and to urge the public at large to choose healthier choices when they step into a fast food restaurant.

Salads consist of fruits and vegetables, and are rich in potassium and may help decrease blood pressure, hence they are generally healthy.
Popeyes’ and Long John Silver’s are unhealthier because they provide a sauce to complement the salad. Hence, they have a higher sodium content.
Popeyes’ coleslaw has a fat content that is above the recommended daily intake. Therefore, it is moderately unhealthy.
In conclusion, how healthy the coleslaw is depends on the restaurant’s toppings.

From the table shown above, we conclude that most fries have high sodium content due to the large amount of salt used. (High salt content)
Fries usually have high fat contents which will clog up the arteries if not gotten rid of. This leads to obesity which in turn results in high blood pressure and related heart diseases.
In conclusion, Fries are considered to be unhealthy because of the high health risks.

We have proven that fast food chains do offer healthy choices on their menus, though some are unhealthy (eg. Fries), and the choice lies in the hand of consumers, hence we have to choose wisely and our reasons are as follow:
1. In recent years, fast food restaurant are increasingly more inclined to the healthier side. Examples are the introduction of apple dippers, more vegetables in Mac Donalds and corn cup.
