Tickets may be purchased from a 4-H member or at the door for $8. The menu will include a made-to-order ome-let, all you can eat pancakes, applesauce, coffee and milk. A silent auction will also take place during the brunch with the winners announced at 1 pm.
Supporting the omelet brunch is very important and all monies raised benefit each member’s program develop-ment fee, fund educational workshops and the Fayette County 4-H program.

2020 Fair Theme Changed
“Strive for Gold”
I’m sorry for the change but according to Haley Jones,
Leadership & Civic Engagement Specialist with Iowa 4-H
Youth Development. “We had to make this slight change
from the original “Go For the Gold” due to the Official
Olympic Committee informing us that we could not use
that theme.
While frustrating and untimely, we do what we do best in
Extension, and we come up with a Plan B and remain
flexible. Our State Council worked hard and fast to come
up with a new theme and logo ideas that would not stray
too far from their original ideas.”

ing a few? Just a reminder that attending meetings
throughout the year is important in order to be able to
show at the county fair. If you are wondering where you
stand with attendance, ask your club leader.

SAVE ENTERING LIVESTOCK ID’S ONLINE IS EASY! HERE’S HOW:
Log in to 4-H Online Log at https://iowa.4honline.com Enter family email address and password. This will take you to
the member list which includes all of your family members enrolled in 4-H: members and leaders.
Click “Edit” to the right of the member listed. You will then be sent to that member’s Personal Information Screen.
On this screen, click on the box that says Animals/Livestock and go to your animal ID screen.
If you identified any dairy cattle, dairy
goats, horses, breeding meat goats or dogs
last year, those animals will be listed at the
bottom of the animal list screen and may be
reactivated.
Photos
Horse photos are required to be uploaded
for ID purposes. You may also upload pho-
tos of your dairy cattle and dogs.
You will then see a drop down box any previously entered animals listed in a manner similar to the picture. Select the animal
you want to enter and click the add button (hidden in photo by drop down).
Note: Youth will not be able to enter market weigh-in
animals (beef, sheep, meat goats, swine). This infor-
mation will be entered by county staff. All market ani-
mals being shown at the Iowa State Fair will need to be
verified after this has been completed. Please refer to
the Livestock Verification Help Sheet for more infor-
mation on this process.
This will take you to the corresponding entry screen for your animal. Note that some selections will activate extra entry
fields. (Example: selecting Registered will in some cases show a Breed drop down box. Enter the information requested and
click the save button. All animal ID’s must be submitted no later than May 15, 11:59 p.m.

Pre-Meeting Activity
Pencil Drop
Activity from Chris Cavert, FUNdoing Fridays, a weekly
email I receive that includes great team building activities.
Supplies:
• Pencil
• String
• Empty Water bottle
Take a pencil and attach two pieces of string around the eraser part of it.
Divide your group into two teams and tie one piece of the string around the waist of one of the team members and the other string around the waist of the other member.
Then find a water bottle and have both teams try to lower the pencil inside the bottle without using their hands. Teamwork and collaboration are the two main themes of this team building activity.
Once completed remove the string from each person’s waist and move to the next pair of youth until all have completed the task.
Program Fee Payment
Reminder to club leaders and treasurer’s that program fee payment is due to the Extension Office. Statement with amount due and youth who completed the enroll-ment process by the deadline was sent to the leaders in mid-December. Leaders were asked to discuss pay-ment options with club members and submit approved form or money to the Extension Office by January 31, 2020.
Club Programs
A club program is needed from Oelwein Cool Clovers. Please turn in a copy asap. Club members are not properly covered by insurance without meeting dates/events on file at the Extension Office. Please get these turned in asap.
Changing or Cancelling Club Meetings
If a club meeting or event is added, cancelled or
changed from what was submitted in the club program,
back in December 2019, please contact Michele either in
a text message OR email. This includes ALL events in-
cluding cancelling meetings due to weather, changing a
club meeting location or as simple as changing a meet-
ing time. If an event is held but not listed in the program
book and something happens the club members and
volunteers involved are not covered by insurance. This
is VERY IMPORTANT to be sure our youth and volun-
teers are properly covered by insurance.

Fill a 2-liter bottle with Lucky Charms cereal (or get
this bag of marshmallows and just use the marshmal-

How to Play:
Make sure all of the Lucky Charms are in one of the

sticker. Don’t put anything on the others.
Line all of the cups up in a group on one table before
the game.
How to Play:
Players must pick one cup and eat/drink the contents
in it then look at the bottom of the cup to see if they
