INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1967 – 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Trunk Hinges Copyright 2011 © by Fesler Productions, LLC. All rights reserved.

Instructions:

1. Remove four bolts retaining trunk lid and remove trunk lid

2. Remove trunk hinge springs. (Using vise grips or pliers will be helpful)

Each side has hooks on the body that the spring is locked

into. Pull the spring down and towards the center of the

car to release the tension.

3. Rotate the spring until the opposite end can be removed from the

hinge. (The end of the spring at the hinge has a bend approximately 1

½” that is locked in to the hinge.)

If you do not care about saving the springs you can cut

them with a die grinder to aid in the removal AFTER

SPRING TENSION IS RELEASED

4. With a die grinder carefully grind the head off the hinge pin

CAREFULLY, ***Be careful not to cut the outer body skin.

This must be done on the outside of the hinge, between

the quarter panel and hinge. The pin is removed towards

the center of the car.

An angle die grinder works best. A mirror and light will

also be helpful.

Be sure to protect the carpet and all upholstery

5. After the head of the hinge pin is ground down remove the pin and

hinge. Slide the pin out towards the center of the car.

6. Install new hinges with studs

for the struts pointing out

towards the body

7. Line up the bearing with the

hinge pin hole and install the

provided pin. Insert the pin

from the center of the car.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

8. Install C-clip supplied on the new hinge pin (Needle nose pliers would

work best)

9. From the center of the car, line

the provided template up with

the edge of the hinge bracket

under the step of the hinge

bracket.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Using template,

locate and drill a

3/8” hole for the

lower ball stud for

the strut.

10. Insert the lower ball stud into newly drilled hole by placing a flat

washer on each side of the hinge bracket and install supplied lock nut

11. Remove retaining pins from strut sockets and set aside. (You will need

to replace them in step 13)

12. Pop struts onto ball studs with

the body attached to the hinge

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

13. Replace strut retaining pins

14. Reinstall trunk lid attaching hinge to lid with supplied bolts and

washers

15. Realign lid with car
