    FAITH COMMUNITY CHURCH

    Get Your Thanks On

How cool is it that we have a

    national holiday that compels us

to stop and count our blessings?

Every year here at FCC we have

    held a candlelight testimony

    service on Thanksgiving Eve

    (November 23rd 6:30PM). There is

no sermon or music, you all are

    the evenings inspiration.

    Although there is always

food to be cooked for the

next day, I encourage you to

    pause and share your story

of how God has met you

over the past year. At least

    come and be encouraged as

    you listen to people who

may only grab the mic one

    time a year.

Psalm 75:1 We thank You, O God!

We give thanks because You are near.

    People everywhere tell of Your

    wonderful deeds.

PETE - It will be lonelier for us this year

as he is confined to the nursing facility. But

even there, he is holding to the faith.

ELI & JULIE - James & Julie are

modeling their faith before their son and

that includes giving thanks to God.

SHIRLEY - As one of our older family

members, she brings a lifetime perspective

    of walking with the Lord.

    God Stuff

It has been an interesting fall for

us here at FCC. We launched into

    it with record-setting baptisms

    and some people hungering for

God. For others, it seems that the

    business of school, work, sports,

    hunting, etc. have seduced them

    away from fellowship. Yet

through it all, those who want to

press on with God have been

doing so. Let me touch on a couple

    points: (1) Pastor Mark and

Jordan are seeing a bunch of

    youth come out on Wednesday

nights. You might think this is

just play time, but to the

contrary, months ago we opted to

    make Wednesday PMs our Bible

    content time, even using Sunday

    School resources. The challenge

for us now, is to help transition

    these youth into participation in

the larger local church family. See

what you can do to help out,

    please. (2) We intentionally

    created space by offering two

    Sunday services so that there

would be room for new people (we

    had gotten overcrowded last

spring). But now we have to deal

with a sort of weird feeling of not

    having a full auditorium. Would

you help us by inviting your

    unbelieving family and friends?

And by sitting up forward and

with other people? We are family,

    after all, not strangers. Most

    wont bite :-)
