  • Difference in Intent of Editorial and Feature Story Feature Story: goes into detail or interprets news in a fair and unbiased fashion. Editorial: may also interpret or explain but with the excep+on that the writer can support or deny a posi+on and draw conclusions Feature Story: may intend to instruct or entertain the reader Editorial: can cri+cize, a:empt to persuade or commend people, laws or organiza+ons

  • Feature Story Editorial

    Introduc+on sparks the readers interest, while the conclusion is wri:en to help the story s+ck with you.

    Similarly, an editorial is wri:en to en+ce the reader, but with the dierence that the reader will walk away knowing the writers posi+on on the ma:er.

    Timely, entertaining, can contain interviews, and are balanced, oering informa+on about both sides of the story.

    Also, +mely, expressing opinions on current events, but can also revolve around controversial topics and do not contain interviews.

    Typically a +mely human interest story that is meant to interest a broad audience.

    An editorial may turn readers o if the writer and reader do not share the same opinion on a given topic.
