      Class starts with silent sitting for 3 minutes followed by chanting of “AUM three times and “santhi” three times.

    The letter“Aum” along with the dot is the symbol of primordial sound. Through

    the ages, ascetics have meditated upon it. Aum has the power to fulfill all ourdesires, and can even grant us liberation.

      AUMKARA

    1. Aumkara is the Sound symbol of the Supreme Lord. It is God’s telephone

    number.

    2. It consists of three syllables - A, U, M

    3. “A” emerges from the throat;”U” emerges from the tongue, “M” from the

    lips and nostrils.

    4. A,U,M Syllables connote Trimurthis:Brahma, Vishnu and Maheswara,

    signifying the Creation, the Sustenance and the Dissolution. (Srishti, Sthiti,and Laya)

    5. We have to chant “Aumkara”, 21 times signifying five Jnanendriyas, Five

    Karmendriyas, five Pranas, five Kosas and the mind.

    6. Benefits: A) Physical: By chanting”Aumkara” regularly, the breath

    becomes pure and balanced. The heart and lungs get stronger and healthier.

    Meaning :— Glory to guru Sairam who is jagad guru (teacher /preceptor) to the whole

    world. He is Brahma, Vishnu and Maheswara. He is the embodiment of Para Brahma.

    He is our mother, father and teacher.

    StoryJayadev was a young boy of a village called Krishnaavartham. He was very weak 

    and falling sick very often, thereby he missed many of his classes. Even on the days he

    attended the school, he could not sit in the class for long hours. His worried parents

    showed him to many doctors .Inspite of the best treatment he had, there was no

    improvement in his health.

    One day he was walking from a river side where the atmosphere was peaceful andserene with a number of trees, cool and pure breeze. He was over whelmed with

    happiness. He saw a sage sitting under a tree and meditating while chanting “OM”.The

    boy noticed that the sage was radiating brilliance in his face. He felt like asking the sage

    what he was meditating and why he was doing and sat there for quite a long time.

      After some time the sage opened his eyes and enquired the boy who he was and why

    he was waiting for him. Jayadev was very anxious to talk the sage and eagerly told him

    “I observed you meditating while chanting some mantra May I know what you are

    chanting, and also I want to know whether you feel hungry or your fingers and legs get

    numb when you do like this for so long. I cannot sit for few minutes also in a steadyposture without moving, I cannot digest what I eat and I always fall sick. Moreover my

    ill health is most worrying my parents”

    The sage comforted the boy and told him “you waited for so long to speak to me. I

    appreciate for this and also for your concern towards your parents. I will tell you a way

    out Can you do what I say?”

    Jayadev readily agreed to do whatever the he says.The sage told him that he was

    meditating “OM”, the seed of all mantras. He explained Jayadev how to meditate. The

    first step is (Asana) to sit cross legged with back erect and hands resting on the knees

    The thumb and the forefinger of each hand joining together.. This is a steady andcomfortable posture to practice breathing properly. Second step is to synchronize chanting

    OM with deep breathing.

    The young boy went on doing meditation like this for several days and months.

    While meditating like this, Oxygen present in the atmosphere entered his lungs, gave

    him energy and the impurities were thrown out in the form of carbon dioxide. Slowly

    there was a change in his body and mind. His body became strong and his mind is now

    active and alert. He was able to concentrate on studies. He could compete well with his

    classmates, stood first in the class. He gained his confidence, did higher studies, got in

    to a good job. Above all he was able to bring happiness to his worried parents.Game :

    Let the Children sit in a circle. When the teacher says Sitha they have to lift their

    two hands and when the teacher says Githa they have to put their hands down (i.e)

    “Hands UP and Down” while sitting. A child who does otherwise is out. The child

    remaining in the end is the winner of the game.
