• Data will be used to formulate new Bylaws related to CARA

Obvious NCAA Initial Eligibility Waiver

• NCAA has released the sliding scale index for Initial Eligibility Waivers.

• PSA must meet:

• (a) core course progress (10 core completed before start of 7th semester

• (b) only a core deficiency of 2 units or less (max one in any subject) Must have 14 core units.

• (c) meets GPA & Test score on Sliding Scale

• Institutional staff members who are not permissible OFF-CAMPUS RECRUITERS

• Cannot have off-campus contact with PSA

• Even after then sign an NLI

NCAA Ed. Column

• Film Review – with PSA after signing NLI

• Q: May a coach and PSA view film on a regular basis (weekly-

monthly)?

• A: NO – would constitute impermissible practice.

• Q: Can coach and PSA view film during Home Visit?

• A: YES – but must account for the Contact.

Q: May a PSA observe team’s film review session, which is closed to the general public on an Official / Unofficial Visit? A: YES – provided the PSA has not committed (NLI) to SFA and only OBSERVES the session. Q: Same scenario - but on a weekly or monthly basis ? A: NO – this would constitute an impermissible practice activity – must be on a very limited basis.
