Bead Heart Pin
You need :
1 red chenille stem per participant.
30 red pony beads per participant (pony beads have large holes so are easier to string).
1 small bar-type pin back per participant.
12-inch length of ¼-inch-wide white satin ribbon per participant.
1 red ribbon rose or tiny silk flower (with stem trimmed) per participant.
A small container for beads per participant.
Tacky glue.
Hot Glue gun (Item #2511) and glue stick (Item #2512).
Leader preparation :
1. Count 30 beads and place in small container for each participant.
2. Cut one 12-inch length ribbon for each participant.
3. Assemble supplies.
4. Make a sample to show.
Directions :
1. Using the chenille stem like a needle, string the beads onto the stem.
2. Move the beads to the center so that you have equal amounts of stem at both ends.
3. Twist stem ends together, near last beads, to form a circle.
4. Shape the circle into a heart with the joint at the top center point. Trim off excess stem ends. See illustration #1.
5. Glue pin to the back of the heart at joint. See illustration #2. Note: Hot glue works best for this step, and the
group leader may need to do the gluing.
6. Tie a bow on the ribbon. Glue the bow to the front of heart at joint. See illustration #3. Glue ribbon rose or tiny
silk flower on top of the bow.

Ode to Friendship
They're the few people who accept silence over conversation
A relationship like this denies silly promises and persuasion
You don't feel the need to second guess thoughts or measure words
Their love comes in wholes, not halves, not thirds
They're the ones that guide you through when fate takes a turn
Fights, small and large, end in forgiveness, never a burn
You forget about first impressions and the feelings they brought
You're grateful for who they are and you forgive 'em for what they're not
