Art Show for February: Angela F. HunklerAngela F. Hunkler currently lives in Oakland in an active senior cohousing complex called Phoenix Commons. She works in downtown Berkeley at a small law firm. She grew up in North Dakota on a beef ranch 14 miles from Napoleon. In a small one-room schoolhouse with all eight grades her fourth grade teacher suggested, “You may draw your own lines”!. Angela went on with a bachelor’s degree in art and education from Minot State University, N.D. While pursuing work advantages in California she attended classes at Merritt College, Berkeley City College and UC Berkeley Extension. Now she has exhibited at many galleries including The Faculty Club (she worked 26 years at UC), Towers in Cloverdale, Jingletown Art Studios in Oakland, The Local Café in Alameda, Riverfront in Petaluma, LGTBYI Center in San Francisco and Rockridge Café in Oakland. An apt description as you see her mythological birds is that her spirit has acquired wings and is traveling all over the world in search of trees and places to nest and produce more birds. Inquiries can be sent to [email protected] or www.angelafhunklerart.com; all works are for sale.
