St Joseph High Gym Dedicated

Over 2,000 Attend Rites Led by Pursley

More than 2,000 persons witnessed the dedication of the $900,000 gymnasium, section of

St. Joseph High School Sunday afternoon. Auxiliary Bishop Leo Pursely of the Catholic

diocese of Fort Wayne, Ind., officiated. The school and the gymnasium were open for in-

spection following the dedication ceremonies.

Bishop Pursley blessed the building and gave a brief dedicatory talk. Rev. Michael Vi-

churas, school superintendent, introduced the committee of local priests responsible for the

planning and financing of the structure.

Dedication of the brick, steel and concrete gym at the high school on N. Michigan St. and

Angela Blvd. marked the completion of a $2 million building project for a local Catholic

high school. The new wing includes the gym, seating 2,800 persons, a stage, cafeteria,

locker rooms, a band rehearsal room and manual arts facilities.
