Femilure is a female fruit fly attractant lure specially designed for monitoring and mass trapping.

It is based on nature identical food attractants. It provides a consistent release over a period of 90

days. It has no negative effect on environment and non-target beneficial insects.

How it worKs

Femilure sachets are placed inside the McPhail/ Flycatcher trap, together with caplet of insecticide

or sticky trapping card in order to kill the attracted females flies. Traps should be hung on the

sunny part of the tree at 1.5-2m above ground level.

FieLd triaLs oF FemiLUre mass-trappingFemilure mass-trapping has been evaluated in peach against Mediterranean fruit fly, Ceratitis capitata. Application of Femilure mass-trapping reduced the number of the background population of Ceratitis capitata and maintained a satisfactory level of control.The evaluation of fruit damages show a high reduction in the number of dropped fruits, the number of softened/dropped fruits, the number of softened fruits remaining on the tree and the number of larvae per fruit. Mass-trapping using Femilure reduced significantly fruit damages and total damages were recorded 4 times less than the control. Femilure consistently protects 91% of crop damage in comparison to control plots.
