Box hill community arts centre presents Art Without Borders: Working with BHCAC artist in residence, Judy Leong, a group of 14 migrant women have explored their journey to Australia through textile art. Over ten weeks the women were taught the necessary skills to design and create their own quilt or textile creation.

The resulting pieces are both beautiful and thought provoking, and provide an insight into

the emotional process of immigration. On display in the Atrium area.

The lotus is one of the most complex and prominent Buddhist symbols, representing purity and enlightenment. From the swampy depths of a pond the lotus grows into an exquisite and fragrant flower. Like the lotus, people can emerge from ignorance, becoming pure and blossoming into enlightenment.Share your wishes for purity and enlightenment, for yourself, for your family, for the community, for the world. Emerge from the dirt of the everyday, add your own lotus flower message to the growing pond.
